Some dogs are reactive but more often than not they aren't even THAT level. Most of what I see is resource guarding or dogs communicating with other dogs. My dog sees his male human petting, or heaven forbid, HANDLING, another dog and barks and carries on in his kennel. This isn't aggression. Excitement, frustration, and many other emotions cause behaviors we don't consider desirable ringside, but it isn't aggression. If you've ever met a truly aggressive dog, you will know the difference. I maintain most of the dogs we see at dog shows aren't even close to aggressive.

Reactive dogs often overreact to certain things or situations. But, reactivity is often confused with aggression. Here's how to tell the difference.

You are correct...that is NOT a bulldog. That is Mr. Alexander Bonelle (CALABRIA BONELLE), a basset hound, and Chris. They picked up another point in DesMoines, IA in February. It is difficult to remember he's still a baby...a BIG baby. :)
