🦌A quality mount starts with proper skinning procedures.

Taking the time to properly cape your deer and leave plenty of hide gives your taxidermist the best foundation to work with. Carefulness matters—avoiding unnecessary cuts, leaving plenty of hide, and handling the cape properly can make a big difference in the finished mount.

*Spare Cape Opportunity*
Have a european mount that you regret not shoulder mounting? I have 1 spare cape remaining that I would like to see get put to good use. It has a 7" Nose-Eye measurement and approximately an 18" B(Neck) measurement, the cape will need to be used on a deer of relative size. Pricing for this mount will be based on my current price schedule and I will provide this cape at no additional cost. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

To make things simple, all listed prices include sales tax.
A few reminders:
• Shoulder and wall pedestal mounts: 50% deposit due at drop-off.
• European mounts: Payment is due in full at drop-off.

🏹 Who's gearing up for archery season?

When I'm not in the shop, you'll usually find me flinging arrows, filling feeders & getting ready for opening day. Looks like I've got a new shooting coach this year—our pup, Meadow, making sure every shot is lethal. 🐶🦌

The countdown is on. Good luck to everyone getting ready for another season, and remember... every great mount starts with one well-placed shot.

🦌 That's a wrap. The final mount of the season has been completed, for the first time in months... the antler rack storage is empty.

What an incredible season it has been. I'm truly grateful for every hunter, every family, every referral, and every customer who trusted Lower 40 Taxidermy to preserve their harvest & hunting memories. Your support has meant more than words can express.

I've got some exciting things in the works for the 2026-2027 season, and I can't wait to share them with you.

🦌 All finished up & headed home. This beautiful buck was harvested by a lady hunter, and I couldn’t be happier for her. Always thankful for the opportunity to preserve memories like these and see the excitement when a mount goes home.

Reflecting on the weekend at the Ohio Taxidermists Association annual show and competition...at the last minute I decided to enter 2 of my final customer deer from this past season into the competition...with a little bit of extra encouragement, I entered both of them in the Professional Division.
No extra time or attention was spent on either of these 2 deer as I had no intentions of competing with them. I am very proud to say that I received a 2nd place award for both of these deer in the Professional Division. I am so very thankful for the support of my family and the taxidermy community, as they are to credit for the progress that I have made. I am very motivated to get back to work in the shop and improve my work for my customers for this upcoming season. Thank you all for the overwhelming support, I am truly blessed.
