🚨 Notice from Warren Animal Control
IT'S SUMMER TIME AGAIN
Warren Animal Control is currently over capacity. At this time we are working hard to find placement and rescue partners for the animals already in our care.
Unfortunately, we are continuing to receive animals from other cities and owner surrenders. This prevents us from helping animals in urgent situations within our community.
Please note:
• We cannot accept animals from other cities or jurisdictions.
• We do not take owner surrenders at all.
• If you found a stray animal, please contact the animal control agency for the city where the animal was found.
Also Call or email Warren Animal Control first before bringing any dogs to the Warren Police Dept to make sure there is room. We have limited space and need room for emergency cases.
Our priority is helping animals in immediate need within Warren. We appreciate the community’s understanding and cooperation as we work to care for the animals already at our facility.
Thank you for helping us help them. 🐾

To the residents of the City of Warren:

Animal Control has recently responded to a higher-than-normal number of animal abandonment calls throughout the city.

Please be advised that if animals are found to have been abandoned, the owners may face charges for animal abandonment and animal neglect.

In addition, landlords and hotel/motel owners may also be held responsible when proper identification and information are not obtained from animal owners staying on their properties.

Pet ownership is a serious responsibility. If you can no longer care for an animal, please contact a local rescue organization for assistance rather than abandoning the animal.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe and protecting the welfare of animals.

To the residents of the City of Warren and surrounding communities:

Please remember that when you are having food, packages, groceries, or any other deliveries brought to your home, keep your dogs secured inside the house until the delivery driver has safely returned to their vehicle and left the property.

Here in Warren, we have been responding to several dog bite calls each day involving the same situation: the homeowner opens the door to receive a delivery, the dog gets past the owner, and the delivery driver is bitten or attacked.

For everyone’s safety, please:

Keep dogs restrained and secured before opening the door
Use leashes, gates, crates, or separate rooms when expecting deliveries
Make sure your pets are properly licensed
Keep vaccinations and shots up to date

Dog bite incidents can result in citations and additional penalties. More importantly, they can cause serious injuries to delivery drivers and others working in our neighborhoods every day.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe.
