Good Wednesday mornin friends!
I took our picture board and observation hive to north last night!
They'll be at Fonda Fair's Honey Bee display in the Ag Building for visitors to enjoy this week!
Thank you to Fonda Fair for reaching out to us to help support this display for another year!
I'm gonna try very hard to get up there to talk bees with you folks Saturday afternoon!

Good Monday mornin friends!
Once I drained tanks at the end of our Family Farm Day weekend, the total that our visitors helped us harvest is 730 pounds of liquid gold!
This week will be spent filling the shop with honey supers for a big harvest next weekend!
Thank you to all our visitors this weekend!

What a way to start Family Farm Day weekend!
I got out of bed at 3:00 to make final preparations for the day, and it was well worth it! Sent the celebratory "First Frame" of the season through the uncapper at 10:30 when the first group entered the honey house, and the crowds didn't stop till almost 5:00!
Thank you to all our visitors today!
I truly enjoyed spending the day with everyone, especially the Littles! I never get tired of their reactions after tasting honey that was on hives just 2 days ago!
A huge thank you to Elene Lowden and Yevette Fyfe for "womanning" the store for the day, and Yevette for making some awesome treats for all to enjoy!

Ive gotten several messages over the last few days asking where Family Farm Day is held.
Each participating Farm opens its doors to visitors to allow them an opportunity to see what happens day to day on the farm!
Our biggest highlight is demonstrating how we harvest honey in the honey house.
Our mascot "Buzzy" will be here, as well as our picture board, bees in our observation hive, and samples of our seasonal honeys and honey products.
Stop in for a visit here and other farms throughout Schoharie, Otsego, and Delaware Counties!

Time to feed the babees!!
One thing we do to help insure the new colonies build up strong before winter, is feed them sugar syrup to give them ample nutrients to grow. They have a short window to get to the strength needed to get through winter, and Mother Nature won't provide for them everyday, so we have to!!

Join us this coming Saturday and Sunday as we open our doors for the 13th annual Family Farm Day!
Along with our usual honey extraction demonstrations, meet and greet with BUZZY, photo board, and samples of all our locally harvested honey products, this year we will also be hosting a meet and greet with the members of our CRCS Trap Team! They'll have their annual raffle tickets available!
Spend your weekend visiting and supporting the many farms participating in this year's Family Farm Day !
