Class list for our 2025 Fun Show! All disciplines welcome! This is a fun event for kids and adults!

Ride-A-Buck
Each rider takes a dollar bill and places it on the inside of their thigh. Riders are then asked to ride around while doing different things – posting trot, canter, etc. When there is only one rider left with the dollar still tucked under their leg they win all the cash!

Freestyle Pattern
Each rider will enter the arena and perform a pattern they have created to the music of their choice. Each rider should choose maneuvers they and their horses do well. Please send song choices ahead of time.

Egg and Spoon
Each rider will balance an egg on a spoon. Riders are then asked to ride around while doing different things – posting trot, canter, etc. When there is only one rider left with the egg on their spoon they win!

Barrels and Poles
Fastest time wins!

The rain was relentless this weekend but we made the most of it! A full day of lessons Friday with Dan, then a great clinic Saturday (shoutout to Shannon for graciously allowing us to use her indoor!! In-Hand Arena Pattern and Obstacle Course Pattern.

We are accepting pre-entries for our Elk Creek Quarter Horses Extreme Obstacle Race #1 on June 1!

No payment required. Please have updated rabies and coggins for each horse. We would love to get paperwork out of the way before the morning of the event!

We will have 4 classes:
In-hand - $20 entry
Walk-Trot (All Ages) - $30 entry
Walk-Trot-Canter (All Ages) - $30 entry
Open - $50 entry

This race will be completed in two rounds separated into arena work and obstacle work outside of the arena. Times for each round will be added together for a final total used to determine winners.

The arena work is judged by Lisa Avery.
The obstacle course work is judged by Robert Klinger.

Who can participate?:
While this event is focused on ranch style obstacles every discipline is welcome to participate! There is no tack requirement- come in your western or english tack or even ba****ck if you want the challenge!

Our only requirement is everyone wear proper boots- no sneakers or driving shoes as you may have to get off your horse and we don’t want any one getting stepped on.

Please note- NYS law requires anyone under the age of 18 to wear a riding helmet.

What kind of obstacles are there?:
Our arena obstacles include things like dummy steer rope attempt, poles, side passes, backing and more.
Our outside obstacle course obstacles include things like log drags, gates, creek crossing, stairs, and more. Our outside obstacle course simulates real trail conditions- there may be rocks, sticks, mud, etc.

What do you win?:
This is a 3 show buckle series. The rider with the top points at the end of the series will win a buckle. We have additional prizes and money for each show.

What if I am not comfortable going fast? That’s OKAY! We don’t expect everyone to go full throttle. Enter anyways and challenge yourself and your horse and have FUN!
