On Saturday June 6th, we held our 11th annual Paws for a Cause 5K Run/Walk. We had a great turnout, even with mother nature whirling around us. Thank you to everyone who came out, sent in donations as well as helped us with our door prizes. We appreciate every one of you! We will do it again next year, lets try to double to attendance! Bring all your friends!!
This year a few of our shelter dogs including Mingus were able to run the race as well. Thank you Kellie, Jill and Jake for allowing Sassy, Mingus, and Sally a day out of the shelter ♥

Meet Sally, the ultimate bundle of joy! This 3-year-old, 45-50ish lb border collie x rat terrier mix is spayed and ready to rock. Sally is currently on a weight loss journey so she'd love an active family to help her along the way. Sally's got energy to spare and loves showering her favorite humans with affection. Long walks and snuggles are her thing. She's looking for a furever home where she can shine. She's dog-friendly, but needs to meet the potential roommates first, good with kids and has not been cat tested yet.

Get ready to fall in love with Kava! This 3 year old, spayed female black DSH, is looking for a home to call her own. Her favorite things are playing with toys, hanging out with her favorite humans, and just lounging around! Kava is good with kids, okay with calm dogs who let her be, and she's okay with cats. She is such a sweetheart, we don't know how someone hasn't swooped her up.

Howdy there, my name is Polo. I'm a 6-7 year old neutered lab mix, roughly 70lbs. I'm always up for a good time and will bring a smile to your face with my playful shenanigans. I'm a big fan of running laps and playing with all kinds of toys but be warned, I will shred stuffies and beds if given the chance! Hard dog bones definitely keep me entertained longer. I'm a friendly and funny guy, eager to explore and ready for my next adventure. I'm working on leash manners and basic obedience skills, so we can practice those together! I'm good with kids but if unsteady on their feet they may fall down. I would do best in a home with no other pets. So, if you're looking for a curious and playful pup, I'm your guy! Introducing two of our fine female felines, Killian and Junebug!

On the left we have Killian! This sweet gal is a 9 month old, spayed female. Killian came in on st. patty's after being found in a machine. She was very skinny and covered in oil. We worked hard to get her all clean, and back to a healthy weight. She has not been to fond of other cats, and will need tested with dogs and kids. Killian is such a sweet cat who loves attention, exploring and playtime.

On the right we have Junebug! Junebug aka Junie is a 10 month old, brown tabby, DSH female. She originally came in due to no fault of her own, just a stray kitten wandering where she shouldn't have been. Junebug is very funny and friendly. She is full of life and curiosity. She loves to play and is quite energetic. Junebug has not been to fond of other cats and does not like small children.

Even though these girls have the same type of personality and appear very similar, they unfortunately do not get along.

This 3 year old female spayed 45lbs, Australian Shepherd x Poodle mix aka an Aussiedoodle is looking for her furever home. She is the life of the party, always down for an adventure. If your an active person who loves long walks, hikes, or even playing fetch in the back yard, she may be the gal for you. Ziva unfortunately does not do good with cats or small children, but has been okay with submissive dogs who can tolerate a herding mix.

Say hello to this stunning man Buster aka Ash. Buster is a 2yr old, neutered male. He has been here at the shelter for far to long, hiding his world class biscuit skills.
Buster is such a sweet boy who loves nap time and attention. He's the type that will sleep next to you in bed or on the couch. Don't let his sleepy self fool you though, this guy also adores playtime. While Buster may be affectionate, he does not like being picked up or carried. He gets along great with cats and kids, but says absolutely no to dogs(sorry dog owners). Even if Buster isn't the cat for you, share his post to help him find his furever home!
