Meet Momma! She may be sassy but she sure is cute!
Momma is a 7 year old spayed female, tortie/tabby aka a torbie.
She has been here since March of this year and is still on the search for her forever home. Momma is very sweet and loves pets, but she can get over overstimulated at times. She will let you know when she's had enough attention and needs a break. Momma does well with other cats and older children, we are unsure on dogs.
You'll usually see Momma on her cat post in the middle of the room(It's where she feels powerful and can show her sassiness).

School is just around the corner, who needs a buddy to keep them company while the kids are away? Rooster it is!! He was adopted from us a year ago, no fault to him, his owners moved into a smaller home with no yard to run! So here he is, back with us. He is a 1 year old, neutered and up to date on shots, beagle mix. He knows some commands, but being a young dog, he doesn't always do them. He just needs a fun family to love him and let him be a beagle!

Meet Sugar and Kitty!
Sugar and Kitty are two of our longer term older kitties, who would love a home they can call their own. We would love to see these beautiful girls in a home to live out the rest of their lives. They do not have to go together.
They both prefer to not be held, as they like their feet on the floor.
Sugar is a 9 year old, DSH, dilute tortoiseshell, spayed female
Kitty is a 7 year old DSH, brown tabby, spayed female.

Sugar always looks unamused in her photos but don't let that fool you, she is very sweet cat. She can be a little independent at times. She can be shy at first but warms up with time, but once she gets to know you she can be quite affectionate. She does love treats and wet food.
Kitty is petite princess, that loves her tall cat trees and stealing comfy blankets. She can be shy at first but warms up with time. She loves being pet but will let you know when she's had enough. Kitty would love a home where she can lounge around on nice big soft cat beds.

We would like to keep everyone up to date on what's going on with Mingus, our sweet boy that is paralyzed in his back legs. It has been a slow process, but we are doing everything we can do at this point.
Day 1, after discovering him unable to walk, Mingus was taken immediately to the vet for a consult, then to another vet for x-rays. Once the results of the x-rays were back he was scheduled for a visit with a Neurologist at Med Vet in Columbus. He has been on kennel rest, as suggested by the vet, getting regular baths to keep him from getting any scalding on his skin, a healthy diet, and lots of love.
On Thursday, July 31st, Deb and another worker Kris, took Mingus to Columbus for his visit. He was seen by the Neurologist and then by Physical Therapy. We were told that he either had a spinal stroke or has bruised/ruptured his spine. Diagnosis is Myelopathy T3 - L3. He is unlikely to walk again. :( Physical Therapy showed us some exercises that we can do with him. He is doing what is called "spinal walking" (a type of gait exhibited by some dogs with spinal cord injuries, where they can move their hind legs reflexively, even without conscious brain control). With the therapy, the reflexive walking could improve but he will never have full control of his back legs. Med Vet was also gracious enough to donate a wheelchair for him to use once his bed rest is complete.
Our hearts are heavy for Mingus. He is only 2 years old and one of the sweetest fur-babies you could meet. Please keep Mingus and all of at the Humane Society in your prayers.

Have you ever wanted an almost 100lb lap dog? One that doesn't quite understand personal space and drools a bit (quite a bit). Then get ready to meet Segar! Segar is a 3 year Cane Corso mix, who believes he's a lap dog. He loves being with you whether you're taking a walk or cuddling on the couch, he just wants to be with you. Segar is very smart and catches on to tricks easily!
Please help us get this big baby into his forever home!

Unfortunately Segar was dumped in our kennels over a year ago, so we don't have much on his past. Segar does not prefer men most of the time and he does not do well with small dogs and cats. He will need to meet any dog in your home currently.

Meet Tango and Tabby!
Tango- 3 1/2 yr old, DSH, orange and white, neutered male
Tabby- 3 1/2yr old, DSH, grey and white tabby, spayed female
Tango, Tabby and Blackie were surrendered together, due to no fault of their own. Unfortunately their owner passed away.

When you walk into our cat condo room, you’ll usually see Tango and Tabby laying together in their cat bed cuddling. If not you’ll see Tabby on the top shelf screaming at you for attention, while Tango takes a nap. Tango is a chill cat who enjoys lounging around, he does have a playful curious side to him. Tabby is very vocal, she enjoys laying with her brother and playing.
Tabby and Tango are a perfect bonded pair, doing everything together. Tango did test positive for FeLV, there must be no other cats in the house(besides Tabby) unless they are FeLV positive. Tabby did test negative but the vet believes it was too early for the FeLV to hit her immune system to test positive. The vet recommended retesting her later in the year but said to keep them together.

Meet Pearl and Jay! These two playful kittens are looking for a home to call their own. They do not have to be adopted together.

Pearl is a 15 week old, grey and white female. She is very affectionate, and loves human attention. She can be quite cuddly, until she gets distracted and wants down. She does like to play with with other cats such as Jay in wide areas, but does not like them in her personal space.
Jay is a 18 week old, black and white male. He is affectionate, cuddly and very playful. He loves to play with other cats that can run around with him. Jay overall is a very happy go lucky kitten. Jay would most likely do best in a house with another cat companion, or a family to keep that can keep him entertained.

Are you looking for a young, family and pet friendly dog? Maizy is your girl!
Maizy is an approximately 1 year old, spayed female, lab and border collie mix. Maizy is currently about 45lbs and will probably stay between that and 50lbs. She was brought into the shelter with her son Aries, due to no fault of their own. Maizy is very well behaved and ready for her new home.

Why have 1 when you can have 2! Meet this fantastic bonded duo-Astro and Marco!
Astro is a 1 ½ yr old, white and grey male. This handsome guy was brought in after being found in a car engine at 6 weeks old. Astro's a bit shy, but once he warms up, he'll be purring like a motor and climbing all over your shoulders.
Marco is a 1 year old black and white male. He was brought in at 8 weeks old with his two brothers, after being found at a rest stop on I-75. Marco is shy at first, but once you get to know him, he’s a big ol' baby. Marco isn't a big fan of cuddling, but he'll put up with being held for a little while but prefers to be running around.

Marco and Astro are a perfect bonded pair, doing everything together. With their lively energy, they'll bring endless fun and crazy to your life. They'll keep each other occupied with interactive toys, making your life easier when you're away.
