Meet Canella (aka “Cinnamon”). This 4 year old Westphalian mare with lots of chrome by Con Capilot out of Eclaire (aka Escarda, a State Premium Hanoverian mare) by Escudo I is a very special girl. Lovely looks, lovely movement, lovely personality, terrific conformation, and so much potential. She is currently 16.3 hands and will likely top out around 17-17.1 hands. She already trailers, ties, clips, bathes, and is good for the blacksmith. Recent X-rays were clean, including her neck. She is a bona fide top prospect in multiple disciplines including Equitation, Jumper, and Hunter Derby.
Her sire, Con Capilot, is the product of superior jumping bloodlines including Contender, Capitol I, and Pilot. He passes on to his offspring his brilliant athleticism, enviable conformation, and fantastic temperament. He had top placings as a 4, 5, and 6 year old in the Young Jumper Classes, accomplishments that he continued when he moved up to the 1.40 meter classes, 7 and 8 year old classes, and then to the Grand Prix at multiple major shows. He finished his 2012 season with his first FEI World Cup Qualifier class in Las Vegas.
Cinnamon's dam, Eclaire (aka Escarda) was USDF Region 8 Champion mare and Reserve Champion mature horse in 2003. She continued garnering wins and high score awards in dressage and eventing even after having 5 foals. At 15 years of age, in 2016, she competed in USEA eventing and earned a Gold Medal in Novice, 5th in USEF for the NE region, and qualified and competed at Tryon in the USEA Championships at training level placing in the top 5 out of 30 in the dressage phase.
Cinnamon herself showed in hand at the USDF Breeders Championships for Region 8 as a foal, winning Champion filly foal and Reserve Champion foal in 2021. She has been in professional training for the past couple of months and is always willing and calm, riding alone or in company. She always wants to please her people and tries new things without drama. This is a rare opportunity to have a partner that will take you just as far as you want to go! She is located in northern NJ. Available for 35 carrots. Please PM for more information. Pictures courtesy of Kelly Lemenze Photography.

We had a great day of dressage showing this past Sunday at Four Farthing Farm! Thanks to all of the riders and their mounts who came to "strut their stuff" for our judge, Peggy Hipple, at all levels from Introductory to Fourth Level. The riders had a great group of owners, friends, family, and supporters in attendance. We also want to thank our volunteers and hard-working staff, without whom none of these shows would be possible. Our next show will be on Sunday, 24 August and any horse and rider combination that rides in the same level in at least two shows will automatically be eligible for our Year End Championship Awards. Mark your calendars and enjoy the pictures from this past weekend!

The team had a great day yesterday at The Sussex County Horse Show! Adelyn and Holly showed in the Mini Stirrup Equitation, in the first division of the day. They placed 4th in the Equitation, 2nd in Pleasure, 4th in the Figure 8 class and 2nd in the Trot Poles in very good company. Then Anne Marie and Kip showed later in the day in the Beginner Hunter. They showed extremely well and pulled in a 1st and a 2nd over fences and 8th in the US, also with some very stiff competition. I was unbelievably proud of both girls and their mounts as everyone came out to show off to their best ability that day. And what trainer can ask for more?? Enjoy the pictures!

Adelyn, Holly, Jackie and Rosie went to heavenly Rose this weekend and we all had a great day and a great show, despite clouds and some drizzle. Adelyn and Holly started us off showing in the WT division. After eyeballing the horses in turnout for a few minutes (hey! Why do they get to go out and I have to work?), Holly buckled down and was her usual wonderful self. After a bit of confusion about what the judge was asking for in the first class, Adelyn came back with stellar rides in the next two classes to secure the Championship ribbon. Then Jackie and Rosie got into the show ring together for the first time and they just had a blast! They flowed around without hesitation, nailing their changes, with both of them smiling (I swear that Rosie was smiling) the whole time. Their performance earned them the Championship in their division as well. It was a terrific day, and we want to thank Julia for running such a fun show. Enjoy the pics!!

After wrestling internally all day, I have decided to POSTPONE the Four Farthing Farm Hunter/Jumper Schooling Show scheduled for this Saturday, 17 May 2025. With the rain predicted most of the week, including thunderstorms likely for Saturday, entries are low and I've decided that it will be better to reschedule for a date when, hopefully, the weather will be more cooperative. I will post the new date as soon as we have one chosen. Many thanks to everyone for their patience!

Four Farthing Farm is so happy to congratulate Adelyn on her leasing of "her" new pony, Holly. They make the cutest pair and are already forming a real partnership during the one week trial that she had this past week. A trial that was so successful, that we have happily decided to continue with the lease for the next year. They are practicing hard for their planned entry into the Mini Stirrup classes this year, which is a step up from the Lead Line that Adelyn did last year. We expect great things from them this year and wish them much fun and learning together.
