Are you a hunter and/or equitation and/or jumper rider looking for a relaxing place to show your young horse? Or maybe you are a trainer with riders wanting to get into the show ring for the first time, without the pressure and cost of a rated show? Or maybe you are a rider that has taken some time away from the ring and want to get back to showing but, again, are concerned about crazy warm-ups and high costs? Or maybe you just want to get off property with your horse or pony and have FUN! Then you need to join us at the Four Farthing Farm Hunter/Jumper Schooling Show 2026 Series in Wantage, NJ! Good footing, plenty of time and space to warm up, plenty of parking, excellent judges, and nice ribbons with end of year prizes (for those that show the same division in at least 2 of our 3 shows) make this a great place to go out and have fun. Mark your calendars! Saturday May 23rd, Saturday July 25th, and Saturday September 19th with classes starting at 8 AM. We have Leadline (up to and including age 9), WT for juniors and adults, Open Pleasure (Western and English are welcome), hunters and hunt seat equitation from poles on the ground to 2'6", and jumpers up to 2'6". While approved helmets and proper footwear are required for all classes, jackets are always optional. Limited stalls are available for the day (please contact Lori in advance) and overnights are possible as well. Please PM for a prize list or more details. Here are pictures from some of our happy riders and their horses!

Yesterday, Holly was at it again, this time teaching Adelyn how to canter on her own for the first time! The smile on her face after this video was taken could have lit up any room. Again, I am so proud of how far Adelyn has come in the 10 months she has been leasing and riding Holly. This is a partnership that is going to be hard to beat as time goes along, and we are all looking forward to the 2026 show year!

In her last lesson this week, Anna rode Holly (the Wonder Pony) on her own at the trot over poles for the first time. She looks so pleased with herself and Holly, as usual, takes it all in stride. I'm so proud of the progress Anna has made this winter, even with all of the breaks for the dreadful weather we have had. You go girl!!

Fun at the Sussex Benefit Horse Show Awards banquet last night! Adelyn's whole family, along with Carly who is Holly pony's family, came to share in the victory celebration. Adelyn looked so happy to get a ribbon in her first year showing Holly, and we were all so proud of them both. Many thanks to the Committee for putting together another great night, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the shows again soon!

Yesterday was a great end to the Sussex Benefit series for Adelyn and Holly and we are very proud of the progress that they have made together this year. In past shows where the classes were larger, Adelyn experienced a little anxiety about not bumping into other horses or getting in others' way. But they have practiced keeping their eyes up and planning ahead, and they put that to good use in a sightly crowded Mini Stirrup Eq division. They placed well and we were all so happy when we saw the smiles at the end of their classes. But the day continued with an appearance by Cruella DeVille and one of the Dalmatians in the Halloween Costume class! A great time was had by all, and we are already looking forward to coming out for the Mini Stirrup Hunters in the Spring! Enjoy the pictures.

Yesterday was a very sad day at the Farm as we had to say goodbye to two of our long-time retirees. Even Mother Nature cried at the loss of Star Player (Mr. P) and Maple. Mr. P was a legendary pony who taught SO many kids (and a few smaller adults) to ride and love the equestrian life. From lead line to Pony Hunter, he ruled the ring for many years, until Cushings and founder forced him into retirement. Many of his past riders and some previous owners stopped over in his last week to say goodbye and everyone had funny stories to share. He will be sadly missed. Maple was one of our retired broodmares, who we rescued from her previous owner. She came to us 9 months pregnant, covered in rain rot, with her bones sticking out and still nursing her yearling from the previous year. When he was born, her foal had some deficits from his mother's poor treatment, and he spent several days in intensive care at Furlong's clinic. Maple had a total of 7 foals in her lifetime and was the most awesome mother to them all. Recently, her knee that had broken while she was on the track had a piece break off again. That and an old hock injury were casing her increasing discomfort, and it was clear it was time to let her go. Both horses are now resting next to old friends and family members, where their souls left to cross the rainbow bridge to be with their loved ones. Run free my loves - you deserve it.
