Yesterday we took Rosie (Four Farthings Rosemary) to The Ridge to show her in the hunters. It was a lovely day, and she was so very good! She won her first class, was second in her second class, and ended up being Reserve Champion! Many thanks to Jaclyn Tassey for working with Rosie and to Melissa for coming all that way to support us. Enjoy the pics!

Here is an update on the third of the four shows we've gone to in the past several days. On Monday, Adelyn and Grace took their mounts to Local & Friends Day at the Fair. Once again, Adelyn and Holly started us off first thing the 10 and under WT Equitation division, where they were Champions! They also showed a couple of classes in the 10 and under WT Hunters, taking 3rd and 5th place ribbons. But the rider showing an indomitable spirit was Grace. Just as she was about to show, the skies opened and she and Laddie stood there getting soaked just before going in for their jumping classes in the Open Equitation Crossrail division. But off they went into the ring when their turn came. Laddie never hesitated and Grace rode over fences in a show for the first time in a downpour. They placed in all of their classes, and I was ever so proud, especially when Grace said afterwards, "That was so much fun!" Words we should all aspire to remember - that's what it's all about, right? Enjoy the pics!

With so many shows in such a short period (4 in 8 days), I'm a bit behind in my postings. Here is the next in the series! On Sunday, Jessica took her new horse, Paint It Black (aka Henry), to Square One for their first away dressage show and got some great results. Not only did they win both their Training 1 and 2 classes, but they also took the blue in the Jake's Challenge Test and Henry was the High Score Horse for the day! What a great start to their partnership on the road. I'm really looking forward to seeing what these two can accomplish together.

This is a few days late, but I still need to tell you all how proud I am of our two girls who showed at the Sussex Benefit show on Wednesday! We started with Adelyn and Holly in the Mini Stirrup Eq and then the Hunters. They got some very nice ribbons in the Eq and were Champions in the Hunters! Then Grace, who was showing for the very first time ever, won her first class in the New Rider division on Laddie and got some other very nice pkacings, missing Reserve Champion by just a few points. They both showed great poise, good ring sense, and rode their horses to the best of their abilities. Again, I was so proud of them and am really looking forward to the second half of this season with these two great kids!

I need to tell everyone how proud I am of Adelyn and Holly Would! At the Sussex Benefit Show this Saturday, Adelyn showed in both the Mini Stirrup Equitation and Mini Stirrup Hunter divisions, the latter for the first time - their first time jumping in public. They've been coming along at home, but we did not want to push too fast and cause Adelyn to be anxious. However, Holly has been around the block more than once or twice and gives her a ton of confidence, and it all came together at this show. They did the Equitation first as a sort of warm up, then warmed up over cross rails. And they nailed it! With two blues, a second and a third, and they were Champion! The smile was so wide and she was so happy - these are the days you live for as a trainer.
