Our Stray and Lost Pet page is published in hopes of reuniting shelter pets with their owners. This album is for the dogs/cats who are brought to the Associated Humane Societies South (formerly SJRAS/CCSPCA) as strays. This is a volunteer-run page and while we will do our best, we cannot guarantee that EVERY stray animal will be posted. If you recognize or need to inquire about a posted animal, please reach out directly to the shelter at 856-691-1500 and/or [email protected]. We are unable to respond to comments on this page. We very strongly encourage anyone who recognizes or has lost a pet to visit the shelter to view all our animals. In order to reclaim a dog/cat, an owner must present proof of ownership such as veterinary records, a valid municipal license, or microchip information. For more information about Lost/Found pets, including stray contracts for each city. All animals at the shelter receive loving care and shelter, including appropriate shelter, food and water, enrichment, and medical care overseen by the shelter veterinarians. Animals with injuries or illnesses are taken for emergency veterinary care by the cityโs animal control officer prior to arrival at the shelter. All stray animals are held for 7 days per NJ's legal stray hold and then are made available for adoption. Animals may also be transferred to shelter/rescue partners or euthanized if there are serious medical behavioral concerns or lack of space at the shelter. Animals available for adoption will be showcased in the Adoption Kennels and on the shelter's website. The Rescue Coordinator will facilitate rescue placement for rescue candidates. Please contact [email protected] for information about rescuing animals from the shelter. If you have lost a pet, please follow these steps--> Step 1: Please contact your local Animal Control Officer and Police Department to leave a lost report. See our website for more information. Step 2: Visit us at 1244 N. Delsea Drive anytime during business hours so our staff will walk you through the building to view all the animals. With dozens of animals arriving daily, it's more likely that you will identify your pet before our staff will. Step 3: Please visit Petco Love Lost to create a lost post. Their database uses facial recognition technology to reunite pets and their owners. In addition you can share the love lost posting to social media as well as an option to create printed flyers to be displayed --> https://petcolove.org/lost
