The rhythmical, three dimensional movement of the horse at a walk stimulates movement to the rider that is similar to human walking. The total development of the rider, including their social, emotional, cognitive and motor skills, are enhanced through interactions with the horses, the volunteers and the outdoors.

For some riders, therapeutic riding builds strength and coordination. For others, it creates confidence, independence, communication skills, or simply a sense of belonging. No matter the goal, our horses and instructors work together to create an environment where riders can succeed at their own pace.

Though our name has changed from The Riding Therapy Center to Crossroads Therapeutic Equestrian Center, our mission remains the same: serving our community through the healing connection between horses and people. 💚

Get ready for a week full of horses, hands-on activities, games, crafts, learning, and unforgettable memories at Crossroads Therapeutic Equestrian Center!

Our Horse Tails Summer Camp gives kids the opportunity to learn horsemanship skills, meet our amazing therapy horses, and build confidence in a safe and encouraging environment. Campers will enjoy horse-themed activities, riding opportunities, and plenty of fun! 🌟

This petite paint mare may be small in stature, but she has already made a huge impact on our riders. Rain’s gentle personality and patient nature helped make her an instant favorite during summer camp and beginner riding lessons.

Keeping our center running smoothly takes more than just what happens during a lesson. We are looking for volunteers to help us care for our four-legged partners and their home.

💙 Strong, steady, and dependable — that’s Tank. 🐴

Before joining Crossroads Therapeutic Equestrian Center, Tank worked as a police horse and later became part of our therapeutic riding herd. Today, he helps riders of many different abilities feel safe and confident in the saddle. His calm temperament and reliable nature make him one of the most trusted horses in our program.

Through our Horse Heroes Program, donors help provide the care that keeps Tank and the rest of our herd healthy and lesson-ready. Every donation helps cover feed, veterinary care, farrier visits, and daily needs that allow our horses to continue their life-changing work.

Be the steady hand that changes a life. 🐴💙

Our riders are reaching for independence, but they can’t do it alone. We are looking for weekly volunteers to join our team as Sidewalkers and Horse Handlers.

You don’t need to be a "horse expert" to make a difference—we provide all the training you’ll need! As a volunteer, you’ll provide the physical and emotional support our riders need to find their strength in the saddle.

✨ Commitment: Just 1–2 hours a week makes a lasting impact.
✨ Requirement: A heart for service (and ages 14+).
