New World Screwworms (NWS) have recently been found on US soil near La Pryor, Texas. Screwworms are the larvae of a specific type of fly and can seriously impact the health and well-being of animals. However, there is no need to panic—NWS are not in our immediate area, and treatment is not necessary at this time.
Practicing good fly and pest management is always important to reduce the risk of all pest-related infestations, including NWS. This should already be part of your management routine. Please refer to the links below for more educational information about NWS.
If NWS becomes a threat to our area, rest assured that we are prepared with a variety of products and management strategies to protect your livestock, horses, cats, and dogs from infestation.
