Keeping the arena watered and drug is an important factor to keeping good ground for your horses and keeping the dust down!
We typically try to water our arena twice a week in the summer to keep it maintained and this water tank sure beats having to hand water!

Maggie is a 5 year old First Down Dash bred mare that came to us very green in January. From not knowing her leads, giving attitude just asking to go forward at times, to becoming a willing partner learning all the parts! She has made strides in the right direction and will be here yet until next year. We can’t wait to see her progress in another 6 plus months!

We spent yesterday celebrating and are spending the day today working on the remaining 9 stalls we have to put up, leveling out the ground and prepping for matts to go in.

We finally got our fans in today and mounted! The horses sure seem to appreciate them.

We have been riding through the nights with the heat this week, starting usually around 2-3am so we are done before the heat of the day by noon. This way horses don’t get too hot while riding as well.

We hope everyone is doing their best to stay cool during these hot days!!!

Had a little trouble catching a Gypsy this morning so decided to test out our Reiners ranching ability. We always tell people that we are no cowboys but we had to be a $10 one this morning for a short period 😅
Needless to say Dolly and i both need to stay in the reining pen 🤣
