August heat is no joke.

This is often the hottest stretch of the year, and pets can overheat fast. Keep it simple:

- Fresh water and shade, always.
- Walk early morning or evening.
- Watch flat-faced breeds and seniors closely.
- Never leave pets in a parked car.

Signs of heatstroke include heavy panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting. Call us right away if you see them. This is an emergency!

We are so excited to announce a new doctor joining the Verona and Montclair Animal Hospital team!

Meet Dr. Kaitlin Magee! 🐾

Dr. Kaitlin Magee earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.

She has special interests in exotic animal medicine and fear-free care, and is passionate about creating a low-stress, positive experience for every patient, no matter the species! She especially enjoys building lasting relationships with pets and their families while helping them live happy, healthy lives.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Magee loves baking, hiking with her dog Goose, and getting lost in a good book. If you see her around the hospital, be sure to say hello!

Dr. Magee is excited to begin seeing patients next week, and we can’t wait for you and your pets to meet her. Please join us in giving her a warm VAHMAH welcome! 🧡🐾
