Lois Lawrence, a founding member of Angel's Wish, once rescued a kitten from a construction site. Weak with starvation, dehydration, and a severe upper respiratory infection, neither veterinary treatment nor Lois’ love and care could save the kitten from the effects of that hot June day. We believe that Angel's Wish would have been that no other animal be subjected to pain, suffering, abandonment or neglect.

Noodles has already used up more than her fair share of lives.

Born to a feral mother in a shed, Noodles' first days were filled with hardship. When the homeowner unknowingly locked the shed, her mother was trapped inside without food or water for days. Tragically, not all of the kittens survived.

Noodles did.

After being rescued and raised in foster care, she slowly learned to trust people and was transferred to Angel's Wish to find a loving home. It seemed like her difficult days were finally behind her.

But Noodles wasn't done fighting.

Earlier this year, she underwent surgery to correct a painful eye condition that caused her eyelashes to constantly rub against her eye. Then, just weeks later, she began limping.

Not just a little limp. A severe one.

X-rays revealed a Grade 4 medial luxating patella, a serious condition causing pain, swelling, and instability in her knee. This week, a specialty orthopedic surgeon confirmed what we feared: Noodles needs surgery to have the comfortable, active life every young cat deserves.

The procedure is estimated to cost between $3,990 and $4,629. They can get her in on Monday at Madison Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care.

We've come too far to stop now.

Noodles survived a heartbreaking start. She's learned to trust. She's overcome surgery once already. Now she needs our help again.

Will you help give Noodles the pain-free future she's been waiting for?

Every donation, no matter the size, brings Noodles one step closer to running, playing, and living without pain.

❤️ Donate today and help Noodles get the surgery she desperately needs, either here on facebook or through this page:

For some cats, our adoption events can be a little too stressful, and they can withdraw or get a little “spicy” instead of letting their true, beautiful personality shine. Instead, they blossom in their foster homes, and we welcome interested adopters to meet them by appointment. Right now, that includes Selah, Milo, and Cara.

At just seven months old, Selah has already experienced more bumps than a kitten should ever know. She was found hiding in a car engine during the dead of winter, and experienced an adoption that made her unsure of trusting people. But she deserves another chance, a home without young children, where she can settle in at her own pace and learn that people can be kind and dependable. Quick movements still make her a little nervous, but underneath that shell is a playful, loving kitten with a great capacity for love. She’ll need a home with another feline friend, or two, to play with—and to share her love of feather wand toys, mice toys, and Churu treats.

Milo and Cara are two sweethearts who prove the power of a sibling bond and will need to be adopted together. These two survived kittenhood together outdoors and were spotted playing side by side before life separated them. When they were reunited this winter after months apart, they recognized each other immediately and were thrilled to have their partner in crime back. At just over a year, these two are still full of playfulness. Cara is opinionated and spirited, and she’ll let you know when she’s ready for attention, on her terms. Milo is larger than life, both at 13 pounds and in his heart and energy—which is why these two will need a home without young children and adopters who understand cat body language and can appreciate their playful, spirited personalities.

To meet these cats, please fill out an adoption application and schedule an appointment. They’re waiting for you.

🚨 Attention all senior cat lovers—we’d like you to meet Jeffrey, a ten-year-old tuxedo loverboy with an elegant mustache to match. 🖤🤍

Jeffrey first came to us eight years ago and was quickly adopted into a loving home as the only cat. He’s grown accustomed to one-on-one attention and love and enjoys companionship, deep bonds, and good brushing sessions, so long as they’re on his terms. He thrives on routine and is looking for an experienced, adult-only home—as the only pet—where his body language will be understood.

Like many senior cats, Jeffrey has some physical features that make him a little different from other cats—nothing bad, just little things that make him, him. Jeffrey was declawed before coming to Angel’s Wish, a procedure that can have lifelong physical and behavioral impacts for cats. He also needed his canine teeth removed due to severe dental disease and is now “fangless” and is blind in one eye, likely from an ulcer as a kitten.

Watching a mama cat raise her kittens is a beautiful reminder that kittens aren't meant to grow up alone. From the very beginning, they're learning from their mother and each other—how to communicate, play appropriately, respect boundaries, and navigate the world around them. Our kittens must be adopted in pairs, or into a home with a welcoming cat, because:

🐱 Kittens are incredibly social and learn important life skills from their mother and littermates during their first few months.
🐱 A built-in best friend means they always have a playmate and companion, even when you're busy.
🐱 Two kittens can help keep each other entertained, which often means fewer adventures involving houseplants, toilet paper, and other forbidden treasures.
🐱 Cats are most active at dawn and dusk, so having a feline friend helps them burn energy together instead of recruiting you for playtime.
🐱 Wrestling, chasing, and play-biting are all normal kitten behaviors—and they're much happier practicing those skills with another kitten than with your hands and arms.
🐱 While adult cats can absolutely form new friendships, two kittens are more likely to bond quickly and grow up together.

Kittenhood is a precious stage of development, and we prioritize healthy socialization and individualized care in our foster homes. We want that foundation to continue in their forever homes, which is why our kittens are adopted in pairs. 💙

Sometimes a change of scenery can change everything.

Earlier this week, we learned that Green Lake Area Animal Shelter was preparing to take in a large hoarding case. Today, one of our volunteers made the trip north and brought eight cats back to Angel's Wish, including Bubba and Princess, who had been waiting the longest at Green Lake for new homes.

By welcoming these cats into our program, we're helping create much-needed space so Green Lake can focus on the cats from the hoarding situation who urgently need care.

While we're glad we could help create space for cats in need, we're especially excited for the eight cats now settling into our care. A new location means new visitors, new opportunities, and hopefully the fresh start they've been waiting for.

Bubba, Princess, and their friends didn't do anything wrong. They simply haven't met the right people yet.

We hope their journey to Angel's Wish is the beginning of the happy ending they deserve.

Welcome to Angel's Wish, friends. We're so glad you're here. ❤️

We’re not sure why so many of our black cats are being overlooked, but we have 14 mini panthers waiting for someone to take a chance on them.

They’re just as loving, sweet, and playful as all of our other cats. But for some reason, black cats continue to have the lowest adoption rate compared to cats of other fur colors. Anyone who’s ever loved a black cat knows how special these sleek beauties are—these 14 angels are looking for someone to take a chance on them.

😻 Meet Eugene, a one-year-old orange purr motor who’s ready for his forever home.

Eugene is the type of cat who’s always ready to go by your side. He picks up routines quickly—you’ll find him coming for snuggles right when you wake up, getting ready for bed with you, or relaxing by himself, making biscuits. Eugene has a seemingly endless amount of purrs and snuggles to give and is happiest on your lap or calmly lying on a cat tree.

The best person for Eugene is one who can communicate with him and give a little warning before moving or picking him up unexpectedly. If you understand cat body language, or are willing to learn, Eugene will make a wonderful companion. He’ll also need someone who can outsmart this clever boy and watch the door before he tries to go on a new “adventure.”

If you’re looking for the love that only a silly orange tabby can bring, apply for adoption now.

🩶 Walter may be a gentle giant, but this handsome grey boy is still learning that the world can be soft and safe. He’s looking for a calm, quiet home with patient people who will let him settle in on his own timeline and show him that love doesn’t have to be rushed.

The way to Walter’s heart is simple: move slowly, give him space to warm up, and let him come to you. Once he trusts you, you’ll discover his favorite things in life are belly rubs, chin scratches, sunny window naps, and a good helping of canned food. Beneath his shy exterior is an incredibly sweet boy who truly wants connection.

Walter is FIV+, but that doesn’t stop him from living a long, happy life. He could do well with respectful cats or even a calm dog—what he really needs is a family willing to give him the patience and understanding he deserves while he blossoms into the affectionate companion he’s meant to be. Because of his FIV+ status, his adoption fee has been waived to help him find his new home faster.
