Our charity, Community Health Coalition, has multiple initiatives we support. We are just back from vaccinating dogs for rabies in Tanzania and now we are switching gears to support our free community health series. We would love to see you this Saturday. www.chcvero.org

Some of the sweet faces we saw at our Tanzania clinic this week!

In addition to vaccinating we also met two children ( ages 2 and 5) who had been bitten by rabid dogs when we did contact tracing with the government. The stories were heartbreaking. The post exposure vaccine is so expensive that it bankrupts most families.

The families have to choose between vaccinating their child to save their life, or putting their whole family at risk. The vaccine is $100. For perspective the average income is about $600 per year. Vaccinating these dogs really does save lives and keeps families from having to make hard decisions.
