On and in continuation of National Immunization Awareness Month, we’d like to remind animal owners to protect against mosquito-borne illnesses, such as heartworm disease, West Nile Virus, and others, by keeping their animals up to date on vaccinations and using preventative medications.

On , we're sharing a few important reminders on the importance of microchips - such as:

➡ 1 in 3 family pets will get lost
➡ Microchipped dogs are more than twice as likely to be returned to their owners and microchipped cats are more than 20 times as likely to be returned to their owners

🎆 FIREWORKS & PET SAFETY REMINDER 🎆
With the 4th of July and Pioneer Day around the corner, we want to remind everyone that fireworks can be fun for people — but they’re often terrifying for our pets. 🐶🐱

Here are a few ways to help keep your animals safe and calm during fireworks:

✅ Keep pets indoors in a safe, quiet space
✅ Turn on a TV, fan, or soft music to mask the noise
✅ Make sure your pets are microchipped & wearing ID tags
✅ Take dogs out for potty breaks before fireworks start
✅ Don’t leave pets outside or in vehicles during fireworks
✅ If needed, talk to your vet about calming options

Each year, animal shelters see a big increase in lost pets after fireworks. Please help us reduce the number of runaway pets by taking a few simple steps.
