Orchards Feed Store

Orchards Feed Store All of your pet, garden, farm, home, and hardware needs in one place! Orchards Feed currently can feed any animal on earth.

Orchards Feed was established in 1889, making it the oldest existing business in its original location in Clark County Washington. It originally started out as simply a country feed store where surrounding farmers bought feed for their cows, rabbits, chickens and pigs. The Carlson family bought the business in 1989 and began to expand the store by including supplies for dogs, cats, horses and wild

life. While we may not stock elephant feed or alligator chow, we know where to get it and what it sells for. Our main focus of products falls into five major categories. Those include horse and livestock, pets, wild bird, lawn and garden, and heating fuel. We carry a broad spectrum in each category to take care of a wide range of customers. We pride ourselves on not only carrying and having in stock those items you need, but also if we don’t stock what you want we will get it for you. And if you want it brought to you, we will even deliver it. We are a business that prides itself on consistency, history and community. We have been here for over 120 years and expect to be here for another 120 years. The Orchards Feed team has more experience in this business than any of its competitors in the area. With management having a combined 50 plus years’ experience, we are unequalled in the industry. Customer Service is also a cornerstone of our business philosophy. A member of the Orchards Feed team will greet you, help you make your purchase and carry it to your vehicle.

I missed an opportunity to celebrate all the Orchards Feed Store father's and grandfather's who are wonderful customers and coworkers and I felt the need to rectify that.

This was my first Fathers day without my dad and I think I just was keeping to "buisness as usual" to cope or whatever new term there is for that. But that is kinda dumb, I should be celebrating the amazing father's who are still with us and being thankful for the amazing moments that we have shared with the people in our lives who have passed on.

Sometimes we forget the father's or father-like figures in our lives when things get rough, as is in our nature, but I would like to change that.

I thank my dad and all the people in my life who have helped raise and shape me, I want thank the customers and coworkers who have been kind to me as I've faced a pretty rough year all around.

Sometimes we don't appreciate people who are right in front of us, sometimes we wait too long, or don't want to feel embarrassed or cause embarrassment, but I want you to know you are appreciated whoever you are or wherever you are. I might just be a manager of a feed store, but I truly care about our staff and our customers. I know we don't always make everyone happy, but I truly believe we want to.

We appreciate you ALL on this day of appreciation no matter who you are.

Thank you everyone and thank you dad for being the coolest dad ever ❤️.

What does the cutest fluffy rabbit being held by Reagan have to do with our sweet selection of Hummingbird Feeders, accessories and nectar?

Nothing. But it worked your looking at this 😆.

We have built a Beautiful Hummingbird endcap next to the wild bird section in Orchards Feed Store. Its a great time to put up your feeders for these beautiful Jewels of the air.

And before y'all come at me cause we have Red Nectar - you know we know better than that lol. The red nectar we found is not made w Red 40 or artificial colors, it is made with natural colors from Hibiscus and Beet Root.

"bUt YoU dOnT nEeD CoLoR" we know, we know. But after about 20+ people coming in looking for the red and leaving to go to Big Box for their Red 40 nectar we knew it was time to do something. We have tried to convince them that the clear works fine too, but beause its all they gave ever used it was a no-go. So we figured it would be better to find the correct food for them here and they buy it from us, than to lose the customers buisness and have them go buy the incorrect one. Win - Win 🏆 we also have 12 different formulas so you can choose which one is best for you. You know us, have to be a bit Extra lol.

Also, don't forget to plant lots of Hummingbird friendly flowers in your gardens and planters to help them get the more complete meals.

Fun fact-
Did you know that Hummingbirds are not just nectar eaters, they also are little speed demons of insect control. A single hummingbird can eat more than 1,000 fruit flies and small insects a day!

Thanks for my TED talk, see you soon ❤️!

The Brother Grimm are both ready to find a homes with your flock!

These beautiful Polish Roos are enormous, friendly and ready for a new group of hens to watch over.

Please inquire up ftont and one of our associates will bring one up for you to look at.

Did you know that we help rehome roosters year round, we have an active rooster waiting list that we call after a rooster gets a home and we take in another one.

Remember your laws when it comes to Roosters, and no these are not for food, and if we suspect someone is getting them for nefarious reasons, we will deny the adoption.

Come meet these cute emo haircut boys, see you soon ❤️!

One of our dearest of Orchards Feed Store Customers Sue from all the way in Port Angeles, sent us a picture of her first Rose off of the "Vavoom" Rose she purchased. I convinced her to plant it to branch out from her soft pastel pinks and creams.

Her response "Its obscenely orange" and one of the master gardener friends commented "it looks like a rose with loose morals".

I never thought about how funny shaming a rose for its blooms could play out. Poor vavoom got read.... But in reality she loves it, who wouldn't.

I needed this chuckle and thought you would enjoy it as well.

What are your thoughts on this rose. Feel free to post pictures of some of your favorites in the comments.

A reminder , after today's heat and before tomorrow's heat make sure you water deeply this evening after it cools down a bit, or very early tomorrow morning.

Do not water the leaves of your plants when the sun is out, it will burn your leaves, and a cold hose water on a hot plant can cause shock.

Another tip for watering your container plants, try the "water and wait and water again" method. You see plants in pots frequently die in this hot weather even when you have watered them because the soil gets so dry that the initial watering only covers the top couple inches and down rhe sides. So the center root mass soil gets hydrophobic. But if you water well, wait an hour or so and then water again the soil in the center will be more apt to soak up the water and refresh those roots.

Gardening, they said it would be relaxing, jeeze lol.

P.s. a reminder, our air conditioning is amazing, so feel free to come inside when you need a cool.place to shop and walk around.

Update - Woohoo he found a home. Thank you awesome Orchards customers !
A rooster dumped down by the river? Yes ironically next to a Van. Yes, a van down by the river. Anyone need a super sweet boy to watch over your flock. Located here at Orchards Feed Store.

You will need to ask about him at the front counter as we no longer have the temporary housing cages up front we had to help the Roosters get adopted out.
But do not worry we are still placing as many roosters as we can, one at a time.

Ask the front desk staff and we can bring him up to you. We have named him Mr. Farley !
