Clutch 8 is all out and shed and we're so pleased with how they turned out! From the vibrant oranges to the more subtle caramel-pinkish tones, they're all so beautiful and unique. This was a fun project (anything with Caramel is really) & I *think* we may have even proved both of the parents 66% Evans, right??

Pairing: {Ladybug} Arctic Ultramel, 66% Evans, 50% Sable, ph Axanthic x {Magic} AA het Caramel, 66% Evans, ph Sable 🐞πŸͺ„πŸ₯šπŸβšœοΈ

This clutch, y'all. 🀯
It's really hard to definitively say, because we have been blessed with some awesome babies from some really cool projects for the past few years, but I think this pairing might be my favorite so far. Every single hatchling impressed from the moment they pipped. I didn't even know for sure what everything was, even after they shed! Had to call in some help from .reptiles & - thanks guys πŸ˜…πŸ«ΆπŸ»

One thing though... Whyyyyyy all the boyyyys?? β™‚οΈβ™‚οΈπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

This pairing allowed me to finally produce my first goal/dream snake after waiting and trying for years!! Beautiful no. 9 - my holdback Arctic Stormcloud Superconda πŸ˜πŸ€©β›ˆοΈ

I also hatched a gorgeous Super Arctic Mai Tai Conda male, another holdbackπŸΉπŸ’—

Pairing was: {Endymion, aka Endy} RBE Pastel Arctic Conda, th Acid Rain x {Xavier} Super Arctic Conda, th Acid Rain, ph Lavender/Albino

* full clutch post coming, cuz they're spectacular, but first...*

I've been wanting to make a Stormcloud Superconda for 4 years now, and when he finally arrives, he's also Arctic!?!

I hate to say it at just about the halfway point, but this might be the highlight of my season right here.

Say hello πŸ‘‹πŸ» to Zephyr - ♂️ Arctic Stormy Superconda, 66% Toffee, ph Lavender/Albino πŸ€©πŸ˜πŸ€©πŸ˜β›ˆοΈβ›ˆοΈβ›ˆοΈβ›ˆοΈ

I'm too excited to wait for all of them to pip to post about this clutch! This is probably my most anticipated project of the season, so heads up more posts about this and the double clutch are sure to come! πŸ˜…

I don't even know what all I have in here for sure yet, and the Stormcloud better announce itself soon cuz I can't handle the suspense 🀣

Pairing was: RBE Pastel Arctic Conda th Acid Rain x Super Arctic Conda th Acid Rain, ph Lav/Albino

So, my girl Lainey has decidedly gone from sweet girl to goblin as this season has progressed.

She bit me (because she was trying to eat everything in sight, and really hasn't stopped with that) for the first time in her life before her first clutch, ate half her second clutch after laying, and then gave us our first official triple clutch yesterday.

Because I was wise to her antics after her second clutch turned into an impromptu buffet, I pulled all of the eggs I could see (6 total) when I first found her laying, then gave her about 90 minutes and went back again to check her progress. At that point, I pulled 2 more and could see that she had at least 1, possibly 2 still to lay... Went back after another 90 minutes to check on her, she was empty, but no eggs to be found anywhere in her rack tub!

I literally took her out and hand sifted through her entire tub, because she has done best with me turning the whole thing into a laybox vs a smaller laybox inside of her tub.... No more eggs!

Guess my Lainey girl had the last laugh πŸ€¨πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ₯šπŸ₯šπŸ‘ΊβšœοΈ

Clutch 6 was a cool one for proving out some genetic possibilities!

Pairing was: Arctic Conda het Albino, 50% Sable/Axanthic, ph Evans Hypo x pos Arctic Conda dh Stormcloud & we were definitely able to prove the female to be het Sable! Despite my early hopes that the middle hatchling in that first picture was a Storm combo, this clutch did not produce any visual Axanthics.

This was our first experience with twins/ a conjoined baby though! The last egg hadn't hatched by the time the rest of them were out of the incubator, so I opened it up and was surprised to see two heads! While it was sad to see that he (they??) didn't make it, it's probably for the best since I'm not sure how it would have survived with the complex fusions it did have. I did include a picture of him (them) at the very end in case anyone DOES NOT want to see a deceased snake, but I thought it was really interesting!

Still Storm chasing.... But many more clutches to go, so stay tuned! πŸ“ΊπŸ€žπŸ»β›ˆοΈπŸŒ€β˜£οΈπŸβšœοΈ

EDIT: this baby is ALIVE! pls read -

Story time... πŸ“– Despite our best intentions to give our ♀️Toffee Conda the year off, she gave us 2 clutches this year from one single pairing in the spring of 2025 (4th clutch total from that).

The first two shots are of the 1st clutch from 2-3 weeks ago, when only 1 or 2 eggs still looked viable. When the time came for hatching, just 1 of the eggs looked viable, but by day 55, no sign of life and the egg looked like it was starting to harden and dry out, so I decided to cut that egg open while a friend was here to see what had happened {I do this for my own learning with every clutch if there are any that don't hatch by the time everyone else is out}.

Inside was a perfectly formed, but tiny baby Toffee. No defects or anything, it had just had already gone into blue, so he was definitely late in hatching. As I was examining him, I swear he moved! My friend and I were completely shocked and I quickly cleared the inner membrane away from its face with a Q-tip to see if he would breathe... He DID!!! Y'all, I nearly cried.

I quickly set up a transition tub for him in the incubator with soaked paper towel to try to help him absorb his yolk and hopefully shed. Checked him later that day and gently misted his face and he drank πŸ₯Ή

He really didn't move much for the next day or two, and seemed really weak despite gentle mistings for hydration 3-4 times daily.. By day 3, I clipped his umbilical cord since he hadn't been able to detach himself. At that point, I finally weighed him, and he is officially the smallest baby I've ever had at only 2.8 g!

I very gently assist fed him a hopper tail and put him back in the incubator so he could digest and shed. Gave him another 1.5 days in the wet transition tub, then officially moved him to his own tub in the baby rack yesterday!!

Checked on him this morning and he is still alive, curled up in his hide on the warm side. He still hasn't shed, but I have a lot of hope that he's going to pull through. I've named him "Lucky" for making it this far against all the odds - he's a little fighter! πŸ€πŸ’ͺ🏻πŸ’ͺ🏻🀞🏻πŸ₯ΉβšœοΈ
