Ollie is a 4-year-old Pit/Boxer mix with a laid-back personality and a playful side. He may be a little reserved at first, but once he warms up, he's a fun-loving guy who enjoys playtime and carrying around his favorite stuffed toys.

🚨🐾Today we are honored to announce that Josie has been named our newest and very first "Special Deputy" from the Porter County Animal Shelter!

Josie earned this special recognition because of her outstanding personality - She is sweet, outgoing, unique, adventurous and she’s always on the lookout for her next treat or a cozy lap to relax on.

Despite all she has to offer, Josie has been waiting at the shelter for more than a year for a family to call her own. Josie would make a wonderful addition to a family with no other pets, as she loves being the center of attention and soaking up all the affection she can get!

To make her adoption even more memorable, once Josie finds her forever home, she will receive a special Sheriff’s Office es**rt to send her off in style. (Just to clarify, Josie is not a K-9 police dog.)🚔🚨

Thanks to a generous community member, Josie’s adoption fee has been fully sponsored. She is ready to go home with an approved application.

When Ziggy arrived, he was severely underweight and clearly hadn't had the stability every dog deserves. Just look at him now! ❤️

With good care, regular meals, and lots of love from our staff, Ziggy is already looking so much healthier. But his journey isn't over—he still needs a forever family willing to help him continue learning, growing, and becoming the best version of himself.

Sometimes all a dog needs is a second chance. We think Ziggy is making the most of his. 🐾

Diesel got to trade his kennel for an adventure—and he absolutely made the most of it. 🖤🐾

Our longest shelter resident recently enjoyed some time out in the community, where he explored new sights, took in all the smells, and even greeted a few people along the way. We were so proud of how well he did!

Every outing reminds us that Diesel is more than just a shelter dog. He’s a dog who deserves walks, car rides, quiet evenings at home, and people to call his own.

Now all he needs is someone to give him that chance. With patience and understanding, Diesel has so much love and loyalty to offer—and he may even be able to live with another dog if it’s the right fit.

Help us make sure his next trip outside the shelter is the one that takes him home. 🏡 Every share helps!

🚨 Please Share for London 🚨

We know you've seen London before. The truth is, she's still here, and she needs your help.

London is a sweet, people-loving girl who enjoys walks, running around the yard, and soaking up all the attention she can get. She doesn't know a stranger and would happily spend her day by your side.

Unfortunately, shelter life has been incredibly hard on London. The stress of the shelter environment is taking a toll on her, and she desperately needs a chance to decompress in a home of her own.

Because London has not done well with other dogs in our care, she is looking for a home where she can be the only pet and enjoy all the love and attention for herself.

We know there is a wonderful dog behind the shelter stress. We see her every day when she's out of her kennel, enjoying time with people and showing off the sweet personality that makes us love her so much.

Wisteria & Briella didn’t arrive at the shelter together, but you’d never know it by looking at them now. These two sweet girls quickly became the best of friends and can often be found snuggled up together in the same cat bed.

While they’re each available for adoption, they’re both still waiting for their forever homes. Share this post and help these adorable friends find the families they deserve!
