A 9 month old dog presented for not eating and some vomiting. On exam, the stomach was very hard and very distended. Radiographs were taken which showed a stomach full of abnormal material. On further questioning, there was gorilla glue in the house that the dog might have eaten. She was taken to surgery and a very large, hard glue ball was removed. She did great and was sent home.
A journal article (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33770163/) described 22 dogs who have done the same thing. Gorilla glue expands immensely so what appears to be a small ingestion can create a large problem. If this glue is in the house, it should be kept up high and out of reach. If ingested, veterinary care should be pursued right away.
