🌿 We’ll enjoy a relaxed **1.5 mile walk** along the trail leading to the water 🌊
🐕💦 Pups are welcome to swim *at your own risk*!

🌟 Dog of the Week: Maverick! 🌟

This handsome Goldendoodle is our Dog of the Week! 🐾

I’ve had the pleasure of grooming Maverick for the past 3 years, and one of the biggest reasons he’s able to maintain his beautiful longer, fluffier style is his commitment to a consistent grooming schedule. Maverick visits every 3 weeks, which allows us to keep his coat healthy, well-maintained, and free of mats while preserving that adorable fluffy look his family loves.

Regular grooming appointments are key when it comes to keeping longer doodle coats. Staying on schedule means less matting, more comfort, and a coat that’s always looking its best!

Maverick also had an extra special reason to celebrate this week—his mom and dad got married this past Sunday! 🥳💍❤️

Congratulations to the happy couple! Thank you for trusting me with Maverick’s grooming care over the years. It’s been so rewarding watching him grow and being a small part of his journey.

Nail trims are important for all breeds. Long nails can affect balance, posture and joint comfort.
We recommend getting your pups nails trimmed every 2-4 weeks to keep their quicks short and their nails under control!

🐶 EAR INFECTIONS ARE ONE OF THE MOST COMMON
ISSUES WE SEE DURING GROOMING 🐶
One of the biggest things we check for during grooming appointments is ear health. Ear infections are extremely common in dogs and can be caused by several different factors - but one of the most common causes we see is food allergies.
Signs your dog may have an ear infection:
Excessive scratching at the ears
Head shaking
Redness or swelling
Strong odor from the ears
Brown, yellow, or black discharge Sensitivity when ears are touched
Regular grooming helps us catch these problems early, but long-term relief often starts with looking at diet and nutrition.
Healthy skin starts from the inside out!
If you’ve noticed recurring ear issues with your pup, it may be time to talk with your vet about possible food sensitivities and allergy testing. Early care can make a huge difference in your pet’s comfort and health.

✨🐾 DOG OF THE WEEK 🐾✨

Meet beautiful Miss Marina 💛
This sweet girl is a nearly 4-year-old Golden Retriever from Copper Fields Goldens, and I’ve had the privilege of knowing her since she was just a few weeks old. Watching her grow from a tiny fluffy puppy into the gorgeous, gentle girl she is today has been so special. 🥹

Marina brings the sweetest energy to every grooming appointment — calm, loving, and always ready for attention (and probably treats too 😂). Her golden coat and signature smile make her an absolute showstopper every single visit. ✨

It’s dogs like Marina that remind me why I love what I do so much. Thank you for growing up with me, sweet girl 💕

🚫 Please Don’t Shave Your Double-Coated Dog 🚫
Breeds like Huskies, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Pomeranians, Australian Shepherds, and Great Pyrenees have a double coat for a reason.

Their coat has two layers:
🐾 A soft undercoat that regulates temperature
🐾 A protective outer coat that shields from sun, dirt, bugs, and weather

Shaving a double-coated breed can cause:
❌ Damage to the coat texture
❌ Uneven or patchy regrowth
❌ Increased risk of sunburn
❌ Poor temperature regulation
❌ Higher risk of overheating

Contrary to popular belief, shaving does *not* help them stay cooler. Their coat actually works as insulation against both heat and cold.

Instead of shaving:
✔️ Regular brushing helps remove excess undercoat
✔️ Professional deshedding treatments can reduce shedding
✔️ Keep them hydrated and avoid peak heat hours
✔️ Provide shade and cool resting areas

The only time shaving may be medically necessary is under veterinary guidance.

🐾 Why Grooming Prices Vary — Even for the Same Breed 🐾

One of the most common questions we hear is:
“How is my doodle more than my friend’s doodle?” 🤔

The truth is, grooming prices are based on MUCH more than breed alone. Every dog is different, and every groom takes a different amount of time, care, and skill.

✨ Things that affect grooming price:
• Coat condition (matting, tangles, packed undercoat)
• Size & weight
• Behavior & temperament
• Length/style requested
• Frequency of grooming visits
• Health or senior dog accommodations
• Drying & brushing time
• Fleas, excessive shedding, or special handling needs

For example:
Two Goldendoodles may be the same breed, but one may take 1.5 hours while another takes 4+ hours depending on coat maintenance and behavior.

Regular grooming appointments help keep costs lower, coats healthier, and the experience less stressful for your pup. 🐶💕
