A Weekend Worth Celebrating 🏆🍯
Badlands Hot Honey “Sonny” is officially 5 months old and had an incredible weekend in the ring—earning Best of Breed Puppy and a Group 2!🥹🏆
As a professional groomer, I love that moments like this are a reminder that a show groom is about so much more than making a dog look pretty for the ring. At just 5 months old, Sonny is already learning the foundations of a successful grooming routine: standing calmly for handling, accepting brushing and combing, becoming comfortable with tools, having his feet and face worked on, and learning that grooming can be a positive experience.
✨ Early grooming exposure matters! Puppies who learn to enjoy regular handling and grooming from a young age are often much more confident and cooperative as adults. Consistent maintenance at home, paired with professional grooming, helps keep the coat, skin, nails, ears, and overall condition healthy while building good habits for life.
And of course, none of this happens overnight. It takes patience, consistency, proper technique, and lots of positive reinforcement. ❤️
So proud of this little guy and excited to watch him grow into the beautiful dog he’s becoming!
