With the holiday season people get busy. Unfortunately our rescues still have to eat and drink. It doesn’t matter if it rains or is cold or is even too hot. They simply cannot go without. I have so many people constantly ask what they can do to help. Donations are always great, however, volunteering is the very best and most effective and rewarding way to help! We need volunteers to help feed. Volunteers are also welcome to ride! We do not charge our volunteers to enjoy the horses. Even if you only feed one day a week! Please consider donating your time, love and expertise! No experience necessary whatsoever to volunteer. We will train anyone who is willing to help! If you are interested in being part of something so rewarding, please reach out to Brandy who is tagged in the comments of this post! She has volunteered for many years and is wonderful at training our staff! You do not have to dedicate very much time at all. We train you to handle a variety of situations from nutritional care to behavioral, as well as medical! We diagnose, do light doctoring and wound care. You will also learn when it is time to call the vet. You will learn valuable skills that will prepare you for having your own horses. We also do have some fun! We will consider any age volunteer, however we do require liability release forms. For anyone under the age of 18, we will require your parent or legal guardian to visit and sign for you. This is a great way to meet new friends while learning new skills. Please message our page at Forget-Me-Not Senior Horse Rescue, Inc. or message Brandy directly. We have a need for weekend help as well as Mondays. Other days are also available and when we have enough help, we work as teams to lighten the load of work leaving room for just simply having fun! Our volunteers trail ride gather for bonfires and cookouts and also go to playdays to run barrels or work cattle. Some have done drill tram, hunter jumper and ridddennin parades. The possibilities are endless! Please consider joining our team! We will not accept volunteers with records for cruelty to animals or people. We care about our staff and want to provide a safe environment for our youth as well as adults. So if your child has been begging you for a horse and you just cannot afford one, here is your chance to give them the experience without the expense! This is even a great Christmas present for some of your older teens who are looking for singing to join that will not break the bank! I will also attach a donation link if you want to help but just do not have the time to do so physically.
