We'd like to welcome our newest veterinarian - Dr. Edie Thomas! Dr. Edie is a native of Tupelo, Mississippi. As the daughter of a veterinarian, she grew up in a home filled with animals. Whether caring for three-legged dogs, a rescue cat, or a nest of songbirds, she was always surrounded by pets. From an early age, she knew she wanted to follow in her father's footsteps. Watching her father and Dr. King build Tupelo Small Animal Hospital solidified her passion for veterinary medicine, inspiring her dream to practice in the clinic she always called home.

Dr. Edie attended Mississippi State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science in 2021. She continued her education at MSU CVM, graduating with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2026.

Dr. Edie strives to make every client feel welcomed, comfortable, and confident that their pet is receiving the exact same care she would give her own. She is profoundly grateful to serve the people and pets of Tupelo and the surrounding areas, and she looks forward to growing alongside the wonderful families she has the privilege of caring for.

For Dr. King's retirement, we have set up a bike wheel with notecards for anyone to write a note to him. This wheel is in our lobby, so make sure to leave a special note before his last day on June 10th!

After 38 years as a practicing veterinarian and 32 years as a practice co-owner, the time has come to explore the next chapter of my life. On June 10th, I will retire from Tupelo Small Animal Hospital as a practicing veterinarian. Practicing veterinary medicine has been an honor, a privilege, and a blessing. I am especially grateful to the many families and individuals that have trusted me with their beloved family pets. I will always have the fondest memories of them all and will truly miss them. Going to work as a veterinarian everyday would not have been possible, nor much fun, without my colleagues and the dedicated support staff at TSAH over the past 32 years. I may be retiring from practice, but I will always be a veterinarian at heart. Thank you from the bottom of heart for allowing me to serve your families. I’m excited about the next best chapter ahead for my own family.
