🐾 Fostering 101 was a HUGE success today! 🐾

We had an amazing turnout with over 30 people joining us to learn more about fostering, ask questions, hear real life experiences, and find out how they can help save lives through foster care! ❤️

A HUGE thank you to Ivy Anne for getting everything set up and helping make today happen!

Thank you to Animal Aid of Tulsa for partnering with us for today’s event, and to Cabin Boys Brewery for so graciously allowing us to use their space!

And a very special thank you to Tulsa Remote for the delicious snacks AND for helping us fill the room with so many potential new fosters! 🙌🐶

We also want to give a HUGE thank you to our Event Coordinator and foster, Tania Crawford, along with our awesome husband-and-wife foster team, Erin and Jake, for speaking today and sharing so much great information, advice, and firsthand experience with both potential and current fosters. There is nothing quite like hearing from the people who are actually doing it! ❤️

Fosters are truly the backbone of rescue. Every new foster home means another animal we have the ability to say YES to, and seeing a room full of people interested in learning how they can help was pretty incredible.

Thank you to EVERYONE who came out today, asked questions, shared experiences, and spent part of their Saturday learning more about fostering. We are so excited to see where this goes! 🐾❤️

Shadow is an adorable 2 year old with the cutest stubby legs and little wiggly butt 😆😍 He is crate trained, potty trained, and has a sweet, loving personality that makes everyone fall in love with him 🥰

Shadow gets along great with other dogs, puppies, and is great with kids, making him an amazing addition to just about any family 🏡🥰

Everyone meet Maura 🌷🖤🩷

This sweet girl is 5 years old and weighs 72 pounds. Maura was found by animal control in heartbreaking condition-partially blind, emaciated at 49lbs, heartworm positive, mammary tumors, skin issues, recently had puppies and was believed to be used as a bait dog for dog fighting. People had failed this poor angel. Maura had every reason to give up, but she didn’t.

Through the incredible work at Southern Hills Veterinary Hospital and a lot of love, Maura went from surviving to thriving, and now she is ready to find her forever family!

Maura is completely vaccinated, spayed, potty trained and dog friendly! She’s good with kids, but would do better in a home with kids over 15! She loves the outdoors, sunbathing, naps, big blankets, meeting new people, pup cups and treats! Maura can be adopted as an only dog, but would do better in a home with other dogs. Dogs can teacher her about her new home, be patient with her, and show her that her new family is safe and loves her!

Maura is partially blind due to a birth defect. She didn’t get enough vitamin A in utero, so her eyes formed smaller than normal. HOWEVER, Maura does have partial vision in the left eye, and has adapted when it comes to navigating the world. She LOVES walks, smelling, and exploring when she feels safe!

Maura is a walking miracle, and it’s time for her to find her forever family!

Honey is a sweet, playful little girl with a beautiful brindle coat and a personality that will melt your heart. She loves attention, cuddles, exploring with her foster siblings and being around her people.She’s working on potty training and kennel training with great success. She’s at the perfect age to grow alongside a loving family and become their best friend for life. Honey currently lives with other large breed dogs and 3 cats which she loves to play with.
