The Rescue is running low on supplies and reptile care is not cheap. Light bulbs burn out. Substrate disappears overnight. Tiny rescue mouths somehow eat like linebackers. 😭

Fun fact: king snakes are basically the golden retrievers of the snake world. 🐍✨

They’re known for being curious, active, and usually super handleable once they trust you. A lot of them actually seem to enjoy coming out to explore instead of hiding 24/7 like people expect from snakes.

Another wild fact? King snakes got their name because they eat other snakes in the wild, including venomous ones. Tiny fearless noodles with zero survival anxiety.

They also come in insanely pretty patterns. Some look like little chains, some look speckled, some striped, and some look like they were designed by Hot Topic.

Bonus: they stay a manageable size, are easier to care for than many reptiles, and don’t need constant attention to be happy. Basically the perfect introvert pet.

We have box turtles right now and it honestly feels like a weird little roommate situation. 🤪

A bunch of them are super social.🥰
Like they come out when they hear me, they follow me around, they’re nosy, they wanna be involved in everything. If I’m doing something, they’re like “what’s going on over here”

and then there’s one.

this one does not like me.
does not like you.
does not like being perceived in general.

they stay tucked in, peek out just enough to judge, and then disappear again like I offended them personally.

I respect it, but also… who knows what he’s been through 😭
Anyways they’re all available for adoptio. they all have completely different personalities, so it really just depends what you’re looking for.

At Wisefrog Reptile Rescue, a bunch of sweet box turtles are ready to start their next chapter. Some are shy, some are curious, all of them are looking for someone who’ll care for them and give them a safe place to explore 🌿

We may be small, but we’ve got big personalities and even bigger lifespans… we’re in this for the long run 🐢

I made a miniature terrarium inside a glass coffin because even plants deserve a dramatic resting place.
Crystals tucked between moss and soil, little living things growing where you’d least expect.
Witchy? Yes. Morbid? Maybe. Cute? Definitely.
