Volunteer Spotlight – Bryce
Bryce has been part of the HSTT family since he was only 9 years old, when his family began fostering, helping at the shelter, and with events. Now, as an adult, Bryce is still heavily involved with HSTT and has become an invaluable foster.
From sleeping on the floor to comfort nervous pups as a kid, to now fostering alongside his partner, Amber, and their two dogs, Aurora and Athena, Bryce pours his heart into helping dogs heal, grow, and find their perfect homes.
“Fostering is invaluable for me as I am earning my professional dog trainer certification,” Bryce says, “as it provides me with a steady flow of dogs who may need basic training reinforcement, advanced training plans, and everything in between. It used to be really hard to give up my fosters to a new family. It always made me bawl my eyes out when I was young; however, I find it easier now because I feel like I’m an intermediary where they can go to decompress, heal, and get prepared for their perfect match. But the best part of fostering, knowing that I can provide them with trust, faith, and patience, and I’m honored to give them that.”
From a young boy to an adult out on his own, Bryce has dedicated much of his life to helping animals find the homes they deserve. Thank you, Bryce, for changing so many lives, both human and canine! To find out more about volunteering or fostering, visit www.hstt.org.
