Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who made the Topeka Food Truck Festival 2025 possible and everyone who came out to support local vendors and HHHS! Out of the goodness of your hearts, you all raised $1,967 for the shelter in 6 hours! Thank you for buying t-shirts and donating for all the shelter pets represented at each vendor's truck/booth.

Over 60 animals found loving homes over this past weekend, and the money raised will help us continue to care for animals who enter our shelter daily - vaccines, flea/tick prevention, special medical treatments, emergency surgeries, spays/neuters, dentals, and bloodwork are just a few examples of the important medical care your donations support. Not to mention keeping the lights on, the water running, important cleaning products, temperature controlled, etc! We couldn't do what we do on a daily basis without your support. Thank you!

And if you're ready to enjoy delicious food trucks AGAIN, you don't have to wait long! HHHS August Food Truck Night is THIS SATURDAY from 4-8pm! Enjoy movement, stretching, and shelter kitties at Kitty Karma Yoga at HHHS Topeka - August 30, 2025 from 12-1pm on Saturday. FREE MICROCHIPS will be offered from 4-7pm thanks to All Paws Reunited!

We are in need of p**p scoopers (the device, although we’re always accepting volunteers!).

As a shelter that houses hundreds of dogs at a time, dog p**p everywhere is a pretty typical morning for us. Long handled tray scoops with a flat spade handle are extremely helpful when it comes to saving our backs when cleaning those kennels! Please consider donating one to our animal care crew. 💗🐾

HHHS Alumni and Ambassador Cat, Rocky, got to visit the students at Security Benefit Academy last week! The students did a fundraiser for HHHS to raise needed supplies and he got to give them a presentation on the types of pets who their hard work will help. Rocky used to live in the vet clinic while he was undergoing severe jaw repair surgery and was officially adopted by our Manager of Admissions! Thank you, SBA!

We are ready for Topeka Food Truck Festival 2025! Shout out to our volunteers who helped us decorate all of the donation boxes featuring adoptable pets (these are posted at every vendor, and they are competing for the most donations!), gathering and loading supplies, and working our booth where you can learn about HHHS, kid + pet safety, and shop some of our retail. Come see us at the event 11am-5pm at Gage Park!

It’s finally here! Topeka Food Truck Festival 2025!

At Gage Park from 11am-5pm eat delicious food, enjoy family fun, learn about HHHS at our booth, and donate to help pets!

We will also be open from 1-5pm today with ALL pet $0 to adopt!!!

Be sure to participate in the Helping Hands Humane Society Sponsorthon at the Topeka Food truck Festival!!! The food truck with the pet that has the most donations will head home with this trophy!!

233 days is a long time to wait for love. But tomorrow could finally be Brownie’s day. ❤️

Brownie came to us on January 2nd and spent nearly 7 months on a cruelty hold, patiently waiting for her chance at a real home. Through it all, she’s remained the sweetest, gentlest soul—dainty in her steps, soft in her heart, and ready to soak up all the love a family has to give.

She’s just as kind with other dogs, especially those who match her calm energy. Brownie doesn’t ask for much—just a cozy spot, a gentle hand, and people to call her own.

Tomorrow from 1–5 pm, adoptions are $0 for all pets as we work to find homes for the last 52 animals in our care. We’re hoping this will be the day Brownie finally gets to walk out the front doors and into the arms of her loving family.
