We kicked off Fall Visitors Weekend last Saturday with a special opening ceremony. West Place and its founder and executive director, Wendy Taylor, were honored to receive Certificates of Special Recognition from United States Congressman Gabe Amo!

We were also joined by a few very special guests, including RI State Representative John G. Edwards and Dr. Jacquelyn Bowser, Associate Dean in the College of Arts & Sciences at Johnson & Wales University.

Although Fall Visitors Weekend was cut short by the rain on Sunday, we look forward to scheduling makeup dates and offering more opportunities to visit the sanctuary this fall. Stay tuned and we hope you'll join us as we continue the celebration.

‼️ Due to the worsening weather forecast for Sunday, September 7th, all tours of West Place Animal Sanctuary are postponed. ‼️

For your enjoyment and for the wellbeing of the animals, all Sunday tours will be rescheduled for a date in the near future. All ticket holders will be invited to makeup dates.

THIS WEEKEND ONLY: Experience the historic West Place like never before!

It's a season of milestones! Join us for Fall Visitors Weekend as we celebrate 150/18/15. 🍂

In September, we are celebrating Hayden's 15th birthday! This incredible Labrador is the unofficial mascot of West Place, and a survivor of animal cruelty. Before being rescued by our Executive Director, Hayden was thrown from a moving vehicle, off a bridge, and down a ravine. He suffered severe neurological damage, but that hasn't slowed him down. Hayden is a little grayer in the muzzle, but still the sweetest dog you'll ever meet.

Come wish Hayden a happy birthday and join us as we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Dr. Samuel West farm and homestead, and West Place Animal Sanctuary's 18th anniversary as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization!

One of our latest rescues is a Rouen Duck from Wild Bird Fund in NYC. Affectionately called "Green Giant," this friendly and social duck is having no trouble fitting in with the .

Come meet Green Giant and welcome him to the sanctuary during Fall Visitors Weekend on Sept. 6 & 7.

September is the 18th anniversary of West Place Animal Sanctuary becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization! Most nonprofits (and businesses in general) don't make it past the first 5 years. In nearly two decades, West Place has given thousands of farm animals and wildlife the second chances they deserve.

We are only able to continue our life-saving mission with the compassion and generosity of our community. Thank you!
