One thing you’ll hear me talk about over and over again is the importance of consistency in grooming.
Consistency doesn’t just help your dog get a better haircut—it builds trust, confidence, and good grooming manners over time.
But there’s another side to groomer hopping that many pet owners never think about.
Every time you switch groomers, you’re asking someone new to learn your dog’s personality from scratch. They don’t know your dog’s fears, triggers, or warning signs. And unfortunately, many owners don’t disclose behavioral issues because they’re afraid they’ll be judged or turned away.
That leaves groomers trying to figure it out in real time—while working with sharp tools around a frightened or reactive dog.
Consistency isn’t just about making grooming easier for your dog. It’s about keeping your pet, your groomer, and everyone involved safe.
If your dog has behavioral challenges, please be honest with your groomer. We aren’t here to judge you or your dog—we’re here to set them up for success. The more we know, the better we can tailor the experience to keep everyone safe and make grooming as stress-free as possible.
