We are so excited to share a happy update from Reggie’s new family!
When Reggie first went home, he was a little timid—but with patience, love, and care, he has blossomed into the goofy, snuggly boy he was always meant to be. 💕 He now proudly claims his special spot on the couch, enjoys his morning walks, loves playdates with his dog friends, and has the best zoomies around! 🐕💨
In between naps (lots of them 😴), Reggie spends his days playing with toys and watching the birds from the balcony. His family says it has been so wonderful to see him relax, feel safe, and truly shine in his forever home.
We are beyond grateful to his adopter for giving Reggie the loving home he deserves. Stories like his remind us why we do what we do. 🥰

Forest is a beautiful almost-3-year-old Plott Hound with a striking brindle coat and an even more striking personality—she’s a hardcore lover with a heart as big as the great outdoors.

She’s happiest when she’s out in nature—whether it’s going on long walks, hiking through the woods, or lounging in her kiddie pool to cool off after an adventure. Forest is loyal to the core and absolutely adores kids, making her a wonderful family companion.

Forest isn’t the biggest fan of other animals and would do best in a single-pet home (no other dogs or cats). The good news is—she has more than enough love to fill your whole world all on her own!

Her ideal home would have a large yard to roam or an owner who enjoys outdoor adventures—trips to the river, hikes, and exploring new trails would all be right up her alley.

We want to take a moment to thank every single one of you who has supported us recently — through your generous donations, kind words, and the love you’ve shown. 💙

As many of you know, we recently experienced the heartbreaking loss of one of our pups. Days like that are never easy, but the kindness and encouragement from our community remind us why we keep doing what we do. Though there are rough days, there are always amazing people out there who lift us up and help us continue our mission.

Friends of the Animals in Tipton, Iowa is looking for a dedicated Part-Time Animal Caretaker to join our team! If you love animals and aren’t afraid of some hard work, this could be the perfect job for you.

Responsibilities include:

Daily care of shelter animals (feeding, cleaning, enrichment, exercise)

Maintaining clean and safe kennels, cat rooms, and common areas

Assisting with adoptions and interacting with the public in a friendly, professional manner

Monitoring animal health and behavior and reporting concerns to administration

Performing general cleaning and maintenance tasks as needed

Requirements:

Comfort working with dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments

Ability to handle physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs, cleaning, and working on your feet

Reliable and punctual attendance, and the flexibility to work independently and as part of a team

Weekend and holiday availability is a plus

Previous animal care or customer service experience is helpful, but not required—we’re willing to train the right person!

🌸 Meet Zoe! 🌸

Zoe is a sweet German Shepherd mix who’s looking for her forever family! 💕 She can be a little timid at first, but once she warms up, you’ll see just how friendly and loving she truly is.

Zoe loves other dogs and thinks every single one is her new best friend! 🐾 She might bark to say “hello,” but all she really wants to do is play. As for cats, she doesn’t seem too bothered by them, though we’re not quite sure if she’d be up for being best buddies.

This girl also does great with kids—she even goes on walks with a few of them now and then! 🚶‍♀️🐕 Zoe would thrive in a home full of love, patience, and playtime.

Chevy is a 3-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix with the fluffiest coat and the sweetest heart. 💙 This lovable boy is well-behaved, gentle, and ready to find a family to call his own.

Chevy would love a home with a big yard where he can stretch his legs, play, and soak up the sunshine. He does great around cats and other dogs, and he’ll do especially well with kids over 10—sometimes he forgets just how big and strong he is! 🐕💨

Meet our newest additions to the FOA family…the Reba litter!!!

These adorable little rottweiler mix pups were rescued from a shelter in Oklahoma and brought to FOA to start the newest chapter of their lives! One of our wonderful fosters took in this family and has been raising them into the sweetest, spunkiest, and playful little pups ever.❤️This adorable litter is over seen my mama Reba who per her foster has been “the most dedicated, loving, and snuggly mama ever”! We have 7 girls, 1 boy, and in total 9 biggg personalities!🥰

The pups are still fairly young so they aren’t completely ready to go home yet, but we’re hopeful that within the next week or so they’ll be ready to part from mom and into their forever homes! Due to their age adopters have the choice of what’s called foster to adopt, where the pup would still legally be under FOA to ensure medical qualifications are met, but the family would be able to have their pup home until they’re old enough to be officially adopted! This entails the requirement of following foster protocol, submitting a foster application, and being available to bring the pup to and from the shelter for proper vaccine and spay/neuter appointments.
