Home and Feeling Extremely Blessed: A Futurity to Remember
Long Post Alert…
As we sit here reflecting on the past eight years, we can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Eva, you have been an integral part of this journey, and your trust in us has meant the world. Together, we’ve faced opportunities and challenges that have shaped us into who we are today. It’s hard to believe that our adventure is coming to a close, but we want to emphasize that this is not the end of our friendship; rather, it’s the beginning of a new chapter.
We still remember last year at the futurity when you first shared your plans to bring Barry to Arizona after his 5-year-old season. While we knew this day would eventually come, nothing could prepare us for the emotional impact it would have. Barry is a true character—full of sass, love, and an insatiable appetite (seriously, he thinks he’s always hungry!). He’s the happy boy who greets you at the barn or gallops up to the fence with excitement. Watching him load onto a different trailer was a bittersweet moment for us, and we’re still adjusting to the new normal in the barn without him. Barry will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Despite the limited time you had in the saddle with Barry, you achieved remarkable success. At this year’s futurity, you brought home a Reserve Championship in the HUS W/T—WE’RE SO PROUD OF YOU! And let’s not forget your unanimous W/T Equitation win at the Congress this past year. You and Barry have created a bond that will only continue to grow, and we have no doubt that you both will keep getting better and better.
Now, let’s talk about Mouse.N.Da.House, affectionately known as “Harvey.” He has some big shoes to fill, but he’s already making his mark. Let’s be honest, we haven’t had much luck with the In-Hand Trail at Congress or the Futurity in the past, so when Harvey earned a 5th place finish out of 37 entries, we were over the moon with excitement and pride. Harvey didn’t stop there; he went on to earn a Reserve Championship in Halter and Longe Line, competing against 42 entries. To top it all off, he also earned the Reserve High Point Yearling Triad, marking our first reserve highpoint yearling triad award at the International Futurity. From the very beginning, we knew there was something special about Harvey, and with Eva downsizing and moving permanently to Arizona, we made the decision to purchase him. Keep an eye out for Mouse N Da House in the Two-Year-Old Events next year. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!
Thank you, Eva, for being such an important part of our journey. Here’s to new beginnings and the memories we’ll continue to create together!
