Proud Dad moment!

Deanna headed north to Nova Scotia to visit clients and hit some Canadian field trials. Today she ran young Banjo, up and coming Vroom and Rip all in the open all age stake.

Just got word that she had some good fortune………….

Spring has sprung in Maine amid the rain we are seeing some sun!

Desperately seeking pigeons! Our normal sources are having a hard time with getting birds. We can travel or arrange transport!

If you know of where we could get as few as 50 and as many as 200 I would be grateful!

Friday Spotlight! Shining on the Nolan household- Ollie, Dots, and baby Smudge!

Baby Smudge did perfect placeboards this week and we are all so proud! She is enjoying learning all the dog things from two awesome teachers - Ollie and Dots.

Ollie is a Field Champion, Amatuer Field Champion and one point shy of a Canadian field championship. He also has finished several open and amatuer national championships and earned Certificates of Merit in a National Amateur Championship and a Canadian National Open. He has also hunted numerous birds across the US and Canada in upland and waterfowl game.

Dots is a National Field Champion, Field Champion, Amatuer Field Champion, and Canadian Field Champion. He has also hunted with his owner and with friends all across the US and Canada hunting upland and waterfowl game! Dots has finished numerous nationals in the US and Canada and earned two Certificates of Merit at National Amateur Championships on top of his National Open win. He has also been Eastern and All time Amatuer High Point Dog in the US.

Both legends in their own rights mentoring the next generation! 🐶

We look forward to starting Smudge's formal training in the summer!

Do you have a spaniel or retriever pup that you want to hunt over in the fall?

Upland bird hunting season will be here in 4 - 5 months depending on where you hunt!

Perhaps you have a field trial or hunt test prospect and want to compete at a high level?

Our grounds are specifically groomed to expose your flushing dog to exactly the real world conditions they will encounter.

We have a couple of training slots available for spring/summer training!

We specialize in developing flushing dogs for hunting/field trials and hunt tests.

Save the date! Central Maine Spaniel Club will be holding a springer/cocker field trial on the 11/12/13/14 June 2026!

Format will be as follows:

11 June Springer Open location Smithfield Maine
12 June Cocker Open location Wildwind Farm Knox Maine
13 June Springer Amateur Smithfield Maine
14 June Cocker Amateur Wildwind Farm Knox Maine

We understand that a lot of Cocker and Springer Field Trials in the East have been cancelled due to weather. We will be discussing adding another Cocker Open stake if there is enough demand. Please share your comments to Jim Keller directly and we will discuss possibilities as a club.
