How do I know if the pavement is too hot for my dogs paws?

On a day when air temperature hits 87ยฐF, asphalt surface temperature can reach 143ยฐF according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Paw pad burns can develop in under 60 seconds. Place the back of your hand on the pavement and hold it there for 7 seconds. If it is too hot for your hand, it is too hot for their paws. ๐Ÿพโ˜€๏ธ

For safety you can also put booties on your pets!! Keep those paw pads safe from heat!!

We are here to answer the VERY important question: Dogs and owners, do they look alike?
National Geographic even published an article about this very question.
So.... what do you think?
We have some of our employees and their dogs here to put it to the test (with a little help from AI)

So you and your pet look alike??

Guess what?
We have a new Veterinarian!! Join us in welcoming Dr. Anna Rush to the Midvalley Team!

Dr. Anna Rush grew up in Orlando, Florida, and started her veterinary journey at Florida State University. She went on to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Long Island University. She has a special interest in dermatology and loves helping pets feel comfortable in their own skin. When sheโ€™s not in the clinic, youโ€™ll probably find her hiking with her husband and their dog.

She has quickly jumped right in as one of us and we are so excited for all of you to meet her as well!!!

Even the most water-obsessed dogs can get tired and struggle faster than you would expect. A life vest is not just for nervous swimmers, it is for all of them. ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒŠ
