Friends of Edgecombe County Animals This page is run by a volunteer advocate group. This is not a shelter page and we are not employees of the animal shelter There are many low cost options.

Friends of Edgecombe County Animals is an advocate group that promotes the animals at the Edgecombe County Animal Shelter and the Town of Tarboro Animal Shelter. We are a small group with limited funds. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Donations can be made through our non-profit partner:

We’re reminding you AGAIN! Dogs will die in this brutal cold without any protection. If you see something, say something! And don’t wait until the end of the day. There may be an animal whose life depends on you!

Attention all Edgecombe County Residents with Outdoor Dogs! 🚨🐕

As we prepare for the approaching cold weather, let's work together to keep our outdoor dogs safe and warm! For the next several days, we'll be facing dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills. If you're in need of bedding for your dog's doghouse, we have a limited supply of cedar chips available free of charge. Please reach out only if you have no other options for providing adequate bedding. Contact us with your location and the number of dogs you have.

Let's prioritize our dogs' safety and comfort! If possible, please bring your dogs inside, especially short-haired and small breeds. If you're able, we highly encourage bringing your dog indoors, especially at night.

Additionally, if you'd like to contribute and donate cedar, please send us a message. We accept only cedar chips, as they're a simple, clean, and easy-to-manage option. Unlike hay, cedar doesn't mold and helps repel bugs. Let's work together to keep our furry friends warm and cozy!
