Francis Society Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to saving and improving the lives of homeless cats and dogs. Each year we help find homes for about 2,000 animals. Nearly half are saved from euthanasia at local shelters, and the rest are rescued from the community. We also trap, neuter, vaccinate, and return hundreds of feral cats in the Tampa community every year. Adopt, foster, volunteer, or donate. Every animal you help counts!

Meet Muffin, a sweet 1-year-old girl with a heart of gold and a whole lot of love to give! She went above and beyond her duties by doing an amazing job raising her own babies and even taking two orphaned kittens under her paw. Now that she is officially retired from motherhood, she is completely ready for the good life filled with cozy naps, sweet cuddle sessions, and a family who will spoil her rotten.

Muffin is a snuggly kitty who gets along wonderfully with kids of all ages and does well with select dogs. After spending so much time caring for other kitties, her dream job is to be Queen of the Castle, so she has a strict adoption requirement: she does not like other cats and must go to a home where she can be your one and only feline princess. She is completely ready to enjoy all the love, attention, and snuggles without having to share her kingdom.

Come meet this precious little girl! Muffin is currently hanging out at PetSmart Wesley Chapel.

🐾 Tails From the Foster Field – Making Room for More

I used to foster in Dallas, and now I’m back at it here in Florida! ❤️ Along with fostering, I help clean kennels and volunteer at PetSmart adoption events.

After five foster fails in five years, I took a little break when I moved to Florida about two and a half years ago. But when a coworker told me that two cats urgently needed a foster home through St. Francis Society, I just couldn’t say no!

When I see how vulnerable these little souls are, I feel like I have to help take care of them. I guess I’m a hopeless case when it comes to cats! 🐈💕

And a fun fact about me? 😂 About 10 years ago, I developed a cat allergy that caused severe asthma. Thankfully, it’s mild now—and apparently, it hasn’t stopped me from surrounding myself with cats!

For me, fostering is about giving vulnerable animals a safe place to land until they find their forever homes. Whether it’s opening your home, helping at adoption events, or lending a hand with daily care, there are so many ways to make a difference.

Sometimes all it takes is saying yes when an animal needs you most. ❤️

Happy Wednesday Night from The St Francis Dog Team! Tonight we are happy to introduce you to our Newest "Rescued Angel"...named Zuma!!

Zuma is 19 months old and under 30 pounds and is a unique puppy whose parents were a Manchester Terrier and a Doberman!!

She is a good, sweet, smart medium size girl...who is full of that high energy puppy playfulness! She is crate & potty trained and knows basic commands, likes both kitties and other dogs as long as they like to play!!

Her Foster Mom describes her as a perfect little girl who would love another playful pup to play with...or to play with you! Needs an adopter who has time to take her out to the backyard to play or go for a walk!

Zuma just entered our Foster Family this week...but she has been with her Foster Mom for 6 months...so she knows her well. Being that she just entered our care...her paperwork has not been entered into our system yet...but it will be ready by Friday morning 10/30 if you are interested to meet or adopt her! So Friday morning go to our website at www.stfrancisrescue.org to fill out her application!!

This petite 2-year-old was rescued from the streets while pregnant for what was believed to be her third pregnancy. She was trapped by St. Francis volunteers for our TNR program, but during her post-surgery recovery with her foster, she showed us she was ready to retire from street life for good.

And we couldn't say no.

Lily is sweet, calm, and kind. She is tiny in size but has the loudest, most loving purrs. She LOVES to be petted, loves to talk, and will happily stay right next to you just to be close. She enjoys being picked up, though she prefers not to be held for too long.

She is friendly with strangers from the very first meeting.

Lily didn't know what toys were when she first came inside. Now she plays like the little girl she still is - curious, playful, and discovering joy for the first time.

If you are looking for a gentle, resilient soul who still believes in people despite everything she has been through - Lily is waiting to bloom in your home.
