Starting to pair and cycle Males with Females for the 2027 season, Alicia took the photos while I explained to her one of the ways I can tell a Male is immediately interested in a Female or is ready to breed when introducing a Male to a Female for the first time.

●1) The Male will move into the enclosure until he comes into contact with the Female at which point he pauses and takes long slow flicks with his tongue in the direction of the Female.

●2)The Male at this point is still in my hands or at the edge of the enclosure, he becomes noticeably tense, so much so I can take my index finger run it underneath his tail and up. The hemipenes are so engorged with blood that the tail stays up similar to when the Male is making alignment with the Female's cloaca.

Just an observation I've made over the years and generally try to explain to others in person but I think with the photos it should be a little easier to understand.
