The time has come to introduce our headstrong baby boy 💕 we have yet to find a fitting name for this fierce kit but he has overcome many obstacles these past couple of weeks.
To begin his story, he came to us a little earlier than expected and we feared whether or not he would survive the night. Baby boy was taking shallow breaths and was mainly unresponsive. But we didn’t stop fighting for him. We did everything we knew how to do and looked for more ways to make him more comfortable. After working with him for many hours, we finally got him to latch.
Everything was great for the next week.. Momma Elsa was attending to her only baby and Cousin Vikki has been a great companion. About 2 weeks after birth Elsa went into heat and dropped about 70% of her motherly duties. We began to notice Vikki in the pen more often than Elsa, so we took matters into our own hands as Elsa’s focus was no longer on her newborn kitten. We began bottle feeding him every few hours and no longer depended on mom for milk. Yesterday he began his mushy food and milk diet. Vikki has been with him everyday teaching him, cleaning him, and basically trying to nurture him.
The last photo is when we found him latched onto our dog LB 😂 there’s nothing there but he finds it comforting 🥰
