To donate: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/TQC4PFMFVCYJY Big Dog is a foster home based rescue program that takes in dogs in need, primarily from local kill shelters. Housing adoptable pets in foster homes rather than a facility allows us to give potential adopters insight into what type of home would be the best match

for each dog. Each dog in our care receives age appropriate vaccinations, spay or neuter surgeries, microchipping, and heart worm testing. When needed we have also provided extensive medical care such as heart worm treatment, orthopedic repair surgeries, amputations, skin grafting, cataract removal, mange dipping, etc. Our ultimate goal is to find a loving forever home for each dog in our care. Our mission is to prevent euthanasia of adoptable pets through community education and foster/ adoption services. BDR provides community outreach through educational programs at summer camps and local schools emphasizing the importance of spaying and neutering and responsible pet ownership. Additionally, we host local seventh grade Civics students each weekend while they preform their community service hours. We believe that creating a caring community begins at an early age and we are doing our part. BDR has also provided emergency relief assistance to communities in disaster such as relief trips after Hurricane Katrina-LA flood victims and numerous trips to assist with dogs coming from hoarding and puppy mill situations. While we are fortunate enough to receive discounted services from several of our local veterinarians, care as well as housing costs such as food, kennels, heart worm and flea prevention, collars, leashes, shampoos, and toys is still expensive and will always be our most limiting factor. We appreciate all the help we can get.

🛍️ SPRING CLEANING? WE NEED YOUR STUFF! 🐾

Our annual yard sale fundraiser is coming up on June 27th (more details to come) and we’re currently accepting donations!

If you’re clearing out closets, garages, or spare rooms, please consider donating your gently used items to help cats in need. Every donated item helps us raise funds for veterinary care, food, supplies, and lifesaving rescue efforts.

Wednesday–Sunday
11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

We kindly ask that only items in good or great condition be donated. Please no clothing, and no items that are broken, dirty, damaged, or heavily used.

While we’re so grateful for the generosity of our community, sorting through unusable donations takes valuable time away from our rescue work. Your thoughtful donations truly make a difference!

If it’s something you would be excited to buy at a yard sale, that’s a great guideline!

As always, 100% of proceeds go directly toward the care of our current cats and the rescue of future ones.

Franklin county residents, here is your chance to get a spay or neuter voucher…

We have been dealing with litter after litter of puppies for the last six weeks. Yes, they are cute, but all of these puppies need homes. Any puppy that ends up with us gets the love and care it needs as well as being spayed or neutered but just think of all the ones that don't end up here and don't get spayed and neutered. That is why we are offering the free rabies and spay/neuter voucher day on Saturday, April 11th From 10 A.m. to 1 P.m. at the Humane Society. We would like to see everyone in Franklin County, who has a dog or a cat that is unaltered, take advantage of this offer. Now is the time to make sure that you are not contributing to the huge numbers of unwanted pets in our community.
