Butterfly Lane is a premier equine facility focused on properly educating equine enthusiasts while emphasizing the importance of safety, balance and harmony with your horse. Although primarily an english based facility (including dressage, hunter/jumpers and eventing) we believe in educating our students with the well-roundedness of riding naturally...possibly even bareback and bridleless. Our wel

l loved horses are not just mounts to learn on but partners in our education system who in turn deserve optimum communication skillls. We emphasize this communication by teaching horse psychology. In other words...whether age 3 or 83 we teach you to think like a horse to understand their responses and reactions. We believe that horses are one of the most forgiving creatures that God created. Come and enjoy our family orientated farm that is purposefully modest in size with the intent to remain personalized. Certified Instruction grants clients the optimal opportunity to succeed in their equestrian adventures. Renae Rosier Remillard graduated with her Bachelors Degree in Equestrian Science in 1994 from Salem-Teikyo University. Completion of her Instructor Certification in 1993 from the Long Island International Equestrian Institute has also proved very helpful in her teaching career. She continues her education by participating in clinics and higher education classes always with the open-mindedness that there is always something more to learn about these great animals that we are blessed with. Renae's teaching skills are valuable for all ages and ablities as it focuses on safety, balance and horse psychology. Over 15 years of teaching experience coupled with massive education and exposure in the "equine world" has given her the phenominal ability to relax the nervous rider and focus the timid. She is also extremely effective in contributing to the needs of special needs kids using hippotherapy. As previous owner of Carousel Stables, Inc. in Gainesville, Florida, the former Renae McAtee recently remarried and moved to Tallahassee, hence the name "Butterfly" which signifies new beginnings.

While Iā€™m proud of this and the ribbons are beautiful and what the public sees as the accomplishment. I see SO MUCH MORE!! Iā€™m estatic over the wisdom gained by these equestrians and honored to be a part of their journey. This weekendā€™s example were as such:

The little girl whose FAITH is so strong that she continues even when she scared. She stayed in and stayed on!! She borrowā€™s my cross bracelet (that she in fact gave me) and insisted on returning at the end of the show, because it gave her strength remembering that FAITH and that God has her back!!

The rider who trusts that her horse didnā€™t actually refuse that one jump but gave her a signal ( which she listened to) 3 strides out and said ā€œI canā€™t make it momā€ and she listened, circled, balanced her better and SUCCEEDED! At the 3 foot height this wisdom is crutial for safety purposes!

The little girl who was likely still upset about her hobby horse placing and felt like her morning wasnā€™t going well (even though she was doing great!) I still ā€œheardā€ you sweetheart, but the tears had to dry up because I knew you could conquer! You went in and won the next 3 classes Blue, Blue, Blue!!!! Champion ā€¦again!!

The lovely, innocent little girl who TRUSTS a SUPER FANCY welsh pony mare so much that it just ā€¦works! And they succeed ā€¦.mostly because of that TRUST!

The young man on the WILD mustang that is jumping the highest he ever has on any horse and is consistently getting the tough lead, ā€¦..he smiles endlessly, even with a bit of barn drama (we tend to squash that around here!) and always has a positive attitude!

šŸ’•These are the accomplishments! šŸ’•

Kudos to the parents for supporting their kids love of horses! I promise in the end, that they will be a better person for itā€¦.the life lessons, leadership skills, coping skills and discipline involved molds and developes the riders mental abilityā€¦leaving a drastic advantage for success in life!

QUALITY not quantity

Every rider in our team received a Champion or Reserve Champion in their respective divisions. These were not small classes and I literally get goosebumps in 90Ā° weather watching these riders LEARN and PROGRESS with classical horsemanship skills! They are learning the VALUE of the PROCESS!
Iā€™m so very thankful for Pensacola Hunter Jumper Association and Horse Show Ventures for the judges that are purposely sought out to improve the equestrian sport! I had riders from Walk Trot all the way to the 3 foot.
The walk trot coaching matters just as muchā€¦. Itā€™s the foundation! (By the way the 3 foot rider started with me years ago as a complete beginner having to learn how to post the trot!
Iā€™m thankful for this small group and that I am able to take the time to analyze and coach them to the best of their current abilities and then teach the horse and rider to more forward!

My riders have bought horses on a budget and they are accomplishing great things and WINNING!

We had a GREAT horse show in Atlanta a few weeks ago. What a privilege to show at the Georgia International Horseparkā€¦.built for the 1996 Olympics.
I am so gracious of the students that follow through and stick with it!!! Foundation is key and trusting the process and your trainer are vital roles in the success of a rider.
Congratulations Emi and Charlie on your many accomplishments a few weeks ago!
Also, many thanks to my Mama for driving her Motorhome up for us to stay in ā€¦she amazes me!!

Super excited to offer multiple weeks of equestrian summer camp this year. Camps include lots of horseback time, water activities and fun equestrian based games.
Camp dates to follow:
-June 3rd- June 7th, 2024
- June 10th- 14th, 2024
- June 17th- 21st, 2024 (advanced riders only)
- June 24th- 28th, 2024
-August 5th- 9th, 2024
*Deposits are $150 non refundable to hold spot. Only accepting 10 kids per week to keep small groups and lots of ride time.
Camp runs from 9:00 am- 5:00 pm. Lunch to be brought by camper, ages 6-12 usually enjoy this camp most!
(Deposit will be put camp balance)
