Rae’s Place is a dog-centered family business that serves our canine friends and their families from our home. Our setup is designed for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and calm during their stay with us. We do this by inviting your fur babies into our home where we treat every dog like family!

This is what I love about working with anxious dogs! This is Piper and she had never been groomed before. She was obviously terrified. We talked her through it, gave lots of positive reinforcement, and just look at her afterwards!!

Pretty girls Willow and Callie came for a visit today. These mini Aussies were so sweet and their folks get the Gold Star for brushing, because we did not find even a tangle between the two. Great job!!💫

This is Sassy and Ollie. They needed some help and we were excited to do so.
Rae's Place deeply appreciates all of our patrons and community support!! We have been so blessed that we are currently booked up through April. So, to ensure quality care for our existing customers, we cannot take new clients at this time.
Please know that we hate turning folks away! If you have a dog with special needs, such as trouble standing, extreme anxiety, bully breeds or XXL dogs that other groomers can't facilitate, or those that are extremely matted like Sassy here... please give us a call. We may be able to get them in as an emergency groom for an additional charge (because we'll be working long hours).

Thursday Thoughts:
I'm a lover. I have poured love into my careers, clients, coworkers, and students. As a home health worker, I was told to care and show compassion, but don't get too attached. As a counselor, I was taught to validate others' experiences and to never judge, but also not to get personal and don't get too emotionally attached. As a teacher, I was told to be dedicated and invested, but to also distance myself to protect myself and to keep kids from becoming too attached. No hugs, no gifts, no attachment. I loved what I did, but I wasn't good at those parts!
As a dog trainer and groomer... I am NEVER told to care less, to be less involved, or to tone it down. Ever! I can send pet parents pictures of me being ridiculously involved with their dogs and they just appreciate it. Snuggles in the floor, face smooshies and kisses, belly rubs, dancing with poodles, sleeping in a puppy puddle, crying over loses and checking in when we haven't heard from you in a while... all allowed and celebrated. I have found my calling! So, I'll just be over here, freely loving your furry heathens😂
