Salem Creek Kennels Family Owned Dog Boarding Salem Creek Kennels was built from the inspiration of our own five labradors. Matthews.

We wished for a safe place for our dogs, which led to us wanting to grow a business that offers the same accommodations for others and their pets. You can feel safe leaving your dog with us at Salem Creek, in a brand new climate controlled facility only walking distance from our back door. We are located 30 minutes outside of Columbia, Orangeburg, and St. Please call or email us to schedule your reservation. Business hours are flexible around your travels to meet your needs!

Keep them safe in the summer heat

☀️🌡️ Heat stroke in dogs can happen FAST — and it can become life-threatening in minutes.

Some pets are at even greater risk, including:
🐾 Brachycephalic breeds (Bulldogs, Pugs, Frenchies, etc.)
🐾 Overweight dogs
🐾 Dogs with darker coats

🚨 If you notice excessive panting, weakness, vomiting, collapse, or bright red/pale gums:

💧 Offer SMALL amounts of water (do not force drinking)
🚿 Apply COOL water — NOT ice water — to the neck, armpits, and groin
🌀 Use a fan to help lower body temperature
🐾 Spray rubbing alcohol on paw pads to assist cooling
🏥 Head to your veterinarian IMMEDIATELY

Prevention is always best:
☂️ Provide shade
💦 Keep fresh water available
🌞 Avoid peak heat hours
🚗 Never leave pets in parked cars
