A Successful RescueToday

On St. Patrick’s Day, eight newborn puppies became motherless, because a heartless individual hit and killed their mother in the road about noon in front of Wal-mart. An eyewitness said the mother dog was crossing the busy street and someone hit her and didn’t even slow down or try to avoid her. She drug herself out of the road, collapsed then died. The witness went to check on her and saw the dog was a nursing mom. She had milk and the puppies had to be close in the area. Volunteers searched the woods and abandoned buildings in the area the mother dog frequently visited in search of the puppies. No puppies were found in those areas. The volunteers were about to give up hope finding the puppies, when someone spotted them under a storage building behind a business. A fishing net was used to pull them out from under the building. They were sent to a foster to be bottles fed. Thank you to everyone that helped with the rescue of the puppies. We all can sleep better knowing the babies are safe.

Thank you to everyone who adopted or shared the pictures of our shelter dogs that were on the kill list. Almost everyone on the list found a home.
We have a new lists of dogs who have been at the Emanuel Co./Swainsboro Animal Shelter for a long time. Their time is almost up before they will be killed. The shelter is FULL and they need the pen space. Please share these pictures with everyone you can and help these beautiful dogs find a home. Please help SAVE A LIFE! You never know what treasure you may find.

Padme is a shepherd mix female dog. She and her sister were owner surrendered. She is a medium size dog about 35 lbs. Her sister was adopted last week. We can't leave this gal behind to be KILLED. Please share and let's find her a home.

Sassy is a chocolate colored female Bully mix. She is adorable with those cute floppy ears. She is begging someone to come and adopt her soon before it is too late.

Odette is ready to find her forever new home. Those beautiful brown eyes and that face are begging for someone to take her home. Is she tugging at your heartstrings yet? Come by the shelter and meet this year old girl and we are sure she will be going home with you.

Riley is a 3 year old male Bully mix. Her stunning grey coloring will help her stand out in a crowd. Come and meet this girl.

Lucy is a brown and white Lab//bully mix. She is about 4 years old. She has beautiful soft brown eyes. She came from the Modoc area. If you ae missing her or would like to adopt her please come down the shelter and meet her.

Crash is a 4 month old male Bully mix pup. He has never known the gentle touch of a human's hand until he was brought into the shelter. He needs someone to work with him because he is still semi feral.

URGENT NEED TO SAVE THESE DOGS!!!!

Cody is a wonderful dog. He is a male hound mix breed dog. He would be a great companion or service dog for anyone. He is great with children and other dogs. Wants to be at with his owner as often as he can. He walks great on a leash. He has been at the shelter for 6 months. He has been overlooked all this time. When someone comes to look at the dogs, he comes to the gate, hoping someone will adopt him. His time at the shelter is up. If not rescued or adopted very soon he will be KILLED. He would make someone an awesome companion if given the chance. PLEASE ADOPT HIM SOON.

Sarah and Padme are two youth dogs who need homes. They are siblings, but don’t have to be adopted together. Sarah has already been spayed. They aren’t too big or too small. They are the perfect size to make a great pet. Love to play and has a lot of energy, but will settle quickly after some playtime. They don’t have much time left. They are on the kill list, too.

Lil and Big are female Plot hounds. They are sisters, but don’t have to be adopted together. They are medium size dogs. They are looking for someone to love them. They have been at the shelter for months. They will soon be killed if not adopted.

Sonny is a handsome male Lab mix with soulful brown eyes. He is a very sweet and loving dog. He needs someone to give him a 2nd chance. Please come and adopt him.

Benny is an older chocolate lab. He is large but very gentle. He is looking for someone to give him a home and second chance.

Missing

Have you seen Brandy? She got lost last night (New Year’s Eve) in Summertown, near Stevens Cementery Rd. She's a female mix of Labrador and pointer, color brown, very sweet. She got lost with the red vest shown, and a light orange collar with an AirTag. Please contact us if you see her.
