The dates are set.
The location is set.
And trainer applications are officially OPEN!

Now we’re looking for the trainers who are ready to step up, take on 120 days, and show us what they can do.

But this Challenge is about more than what happens in the arena.

It’s about taking a horse that needs a chance and giving them 120 days of time, patience, training, and opportunity. It’s about building the foundation that can help a horse find a new purpose, a new direction, and ultimately, a new future. ❤️

Ivar found his people today! It’s been a summer full of fun with this special gelding. He’s been the go to horse and we have enjoyed every second with him.

Wishing happy trails for Ivar and the Oberg Family! Ivar is just down the road from us now and he will be living his best life💛

New training horse “Peanut” came in this evening for training. Peanut is a 4 year old mustang mare that is unhandled and is here to start her journey to domestication. Looking foward to bringing this little gal along. Three of my favorite things in a horse, gray, mustang, and short!

Meet “Critter” one of our August outside training horses. Critter is a 2 year old Mustang gelding that was rounded up from the U.S Forest Service and is here to learn all the basics on the ground! Critter has been here just 1 short week and has already picked up giving to pressure, leading, tying, and had his very first bath today.

A week ago Critter was a wrecking ball of fear, and had a huge flight of fight from pressure. This little guy is quite the handful at times but he’s starting to understand the idea of what we are asking of him. Onwards and upwards for Critter as we will keep chipping away, gaining trust and confidence!

You may remember Kismet and Vega from the Heart of the Horse Trainers Challenge. 💕

For now, they’re waiting for an opening in training… or they may be available for the next Heart of the Horse Challenge. More info on that coming soon! 🐴

Vega does appear to have a neurological issue that shows up when she’s under stress, so we’re taking things one day at a time. Right now, she’s simply enjoying life—and trying to outrun one very determined gelding.

That skinny little guy, who’s acting like a stallion, was recently rounded up by the BLM and was an extra from the Bluegrass Mustang Challenge.

This may be the first time in his life he’s had the chance to have a “harem.” 😆 The other geldings couldn’t care less, but he has decided these mares are his. Kismet has made it very clear she’s not impressed, and judging by the occasional kick in his direction… he’s probably wearing out his welcome. 😂🤦‍♀️
