Our rescues need your help ❤️🩹 if you can’t donate monetarily, volunteers and fosters are always welcome. If you have the time, please consider volunteering 🐾
🚨 Intake Closed Until Further Notice 🚨
This isn’t an easy post to write, but it needs to be said.
Right now, our rescue is skimming by every single month. Despite every effort, fundraisers, T-shirt sales and discounted adoption fees, the reality is that kittens just aren’t getting adopted.
Adoption is the only way we bring in consistent funds to cover vet bills, and even then, the fees don’t come close to covering something as basic as spay/neuter. Month after month, the vet bills keep stacking up, and here we are again, mid-month, staring down another $1,000+ balance due by the end of the month.
I want to be very honest with you all: this is exhausting and draining for one person to carry. I’ve posted before about needing volunteers (we do have a couple volunteers and an AMAZING store partner that goes above and beyond for me and our kittens), fosters, or even just an extra set of hands, but the truth is that most people don’t realize the daily weight of this.
When kittens aren’t in foster homes, I am their full-time caregiver. I coordinate vet appointments, handle adoptions, make supply runs across Houston, and keep our adoption habitat stocked and monitored. And I do all of this while navigating some very real medical challenges, being a mom, and trying to hold onto a personal life that often gets put last.
For the health of both myself and the longevity of this rescue, I have to make the tough decision to CLOSE intake until further notice.
We still have fully vetted, absolutely wonderful kittens sitting in our adoption habitat, some for over two weeks now, with zero interest. They are ready for homes of their own, and adopting one (or sharing our posts to help them find homes) is one of the most impactful ways you can support us right now.
If you can’t adopt, please consider donating, sharing, or even helping in the smallest way possible. Every little bit matters more than you know.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for hearing me, supporting us, and continuing to stand with this rescue.
