With the weather warming up, outdoor fun with your pup is just what you both need. But it's important to keep them safe too. A reliable, simple "come" is one of the most important skills you can teach your dog—keeping them safe and giving you peace of mind!
Here are five tips to help your pup come when called:
🐶 Use High-Value Rewards – Treats, toys, or praise make coming to you the best choice!
🏃‍♂️ Make It Fun – Use an excited voice and playful body language to encourage a fast response.
🌿 Start in a Low-Distraction Area – Build confidence at home before trying in busy spaces.
🔗 Use a Long Leash – Give them freedom while maintaining control during training.

Understanding canine body language is essential for effective communication with your dog 🐶. Here are five simple tips:
1️⃣ Tail Position Matters – A wagging tail doesn’t always mean happiness! A high, stiff wag can indicate alertness or arousal, while a low, slow wag might show uncertainty or deference 🐕.
2️⃣ Ears Tell a Story – Forward ears suggest curiosity or excitement 😃, but pinned-back ears can signal fear, anxiety, or deference 😬.
3️⃣ Relaxed vs. Stiff Body – A loose, wiggly body generally means a happy, relaxed pup, while a stiff, tense posture may signal stress, aggression, or discomfort 🤗➡️😟.
4️⃣ Yawning and Lip Licking – These are common calming signals dogs use when they’re anxious or trying to diffuse tension 😴👅.
5️⃣ Eye Contact and Whale Eye – Direct eye contact can be tricky in dog language, and “whale eye” (when the whites of their eyes are visible) often signals fear or discomfort 😳.
