We joined forces with Animal Balance for a large-scale spay/neuter clinic filled with teamwork, compassion, and plenty of hardworking hands.

REPOST: Over the past three months, thousands of animals have come through the doors of the Stockton Animal Shelter, and every single one has had a story. Thanks to our staff, volunteers, adopters, rescue partners, fosters, and community, so many of those stories have led to new beginnings. ❤️

From June through August 2026:
🏠 2,905 animals came into our care
❤️ 698 animals were adopted
🚐 724 animals were transferred to rescue partners
🐾 166 animals were reunited with their owners

That’s 1,588 animals who left the shelter through adoption, rescue, or by making their way back home.

Thank you for adopting. Thank you for fostering. Thank you to our rescue partners for saying yes. And thank you to everyone who supports the work happening at Stockton Animal Services every day.

Together, we’re making a difference—one animal at a time. 💙🐾

Did you know the Stockton Animal Shelter offers low-cost vaccines for community pets? Keeping your furry family members protected and up-to-date on their vaccinations doesn’t have to break the bank! ❤️

Here’s what you need to know:

🐶🐱 Wednesday–Sunday
⏰ 1:00–3:30 PM
🚶 No appointment needed! Walk-ins are welcome.

☀️ IMPORTANT WEATHER NOTE: For the safety of pets and people, vaccine services are only available on days when the temperature does not exceed 95°F.

Meet Andrew, a sweet, quiet, medium-sized pup who needs a little help getting back on all four paws. ❤️‍🩹

Andrew needs FHO surgery, but before he can have the procedure, he needs one very important thing: A COMMITTED MEDICAL FOSTER.

Andrew will need a safe, comfortable place to recover after surgery, and the shelter simply isn’t the environment he needs for that healing process.

The good news? Andrew is very easy to handle and incredibly quiet, making him a great candidate for someone willing to open their home and help him through his recovery.

His surgery is waiting. His second chance is waiting. Now Andrew just needs YOU. 🥺❤️

🦁❤️ LEODORE HAS RESCUE INTEREST! NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP TO GET HIM THERE! ❤️🦁

Our sweet Leodore Lionheart has someone waiting in the wings to give him his second chance! 🙌 There’s just one hurdle standing between him and rescue:

He needs TWO WEEKS of boarding until they can take him.

Leodore has been waiting for his chance to leave the shelter, and we are SO CLOSE to making it happen. We don’t want boarding costs to be the thing that stands between this gentle boy and his ticket out. 🥹

Can you help us cover his stay? Whether it’s $5, $10, $25 or more, every donation helps give Leodore a safe place to land while he waits for rescue.
