🐾 Every Dog Deserves a Peaceful Little Corner of the World Just like us, our pups need a quiet place to relax, recharge, and feel totally safe. Creating a cozy, calming space for your dog can work wonders—easing anxiety and helping them feel more at home.

Choose a low-traffic area away from loud TVs, doorbells, or busy windows. Ideal quiet spots include:
A corner in a bedroom, The laundry room, A quiet hallway nook, their crate if it has positive associations

Make it comfy with a Layer in softness with blankets. their favorite bed, or a cooling mat—whatever makes them feel most relaxed. Soft lighting or natural sunlight adds to the peaceful vibe.

Respect the Zone: Teach family members—especially kids—that this is your dog’s “Do Not Disturb” area. You might even create a sign like:
“Dog Resting Zone – Please Be Quiet”

Offer a calming enrichment activity can help your dog unwind, such as:
A chew toy
A snuffle mat
A lick mat with a favorite treat

Keeping Your Dog Happy on Hot Days

When it’s too hot to play outside, try these indoor activities to keep your pup entertained and engaged:

• Indoor Games – Fetch, tug-of-war, hide & seek, or even a dance party.

• Puzzle Toys & Brain Games – Snuffle mats, treat puzzles, or DIY games (muffin tin hunt, hide treats in boxes or around the house).

• Frozen Treats – Freeze a stuffed Kong or make pup-safe broth popsicles.

• Durable Chews – Bones, antlers, or other long-lasting chews.

• Training Time – Practice new tricks or reinforce favorite commands.

• Calming Activities – Grooming, brushing, or a gentle massage to relax and bond.

The silent auction brought in OVER $2000, the state of Colorado approved us for the tax check off grant for $1000 and Viaero Wireless sponsored us for $500 for the month of August. We are so grateful and excited for what we will be able to do in September!

But we want your feedback about the auction! For our very first one we think we did pretty good organizing and planning it, but we also think there is room for improvement….. tell us your thoughts be constructive. What do you think we can do better at next years auction?

Training practice can look like many things…

• Leash work – walking with proper leash manners

• Recall work – teaching your dog to come when called

• Socialization – visiting stores, parks, and new environments

• Agility & enrichment – challenging their mind with obstacles and puzzles

• Obedience basics – sit, down, stay, come

Structured exercise means-

1. Sensory engagement (smells, sights, sounds)
2. Continuous movement 30 mins or longer
3. Physically challenging (running, climbing, hiking, swimming)

It does not mean playing fetch. Fetch is an enriching game not a structured exercise

Hello Class—keep up the great work!

As you know, Michelle will be on medical leave until September. Classes will resume on August 27th with Taylor, and Michelle will return the following month.

During the break, training does not stop. All active participants must practice daily and submit a daily training log. This is now a mandatory requirement for anyone still working toward graduation.

Starting September 1, 2025, participants who do not submit consistent daily logs will be removed from the program. Graduates are exempt and welcome to drop in for refreshers anytime.

Daily practice drives your dog’s progress, keeps the class moving forward, and protects the high quality of our program. We’re all in this together—your dedication matters.

Thank you for your commitment!!
