It is time for with Whopper Jr.'s Happy Tail!

You can't make this stuff up! During a Sunday evening shift, one of our very own PAWS adoptable dogs, Whopper, discovered a tiny kitten outside the building. Being the good boy he is, Whopper decided this little guy needed help and promptly alerted his humans.

Whopper Jr. was brought inside, checked over by our medical team, warmed up, and soon headed off to a foster home where he could get some extra care and attention.

Here's the best part... Whopper Jr. was officially adopted!

A big thank-you to Whopper for his excellent detective work, our team and fosters for making sure Whopper Jr. was safe and cared for, and his new adopters for making him part of their family.

Who's had your spot in the living room taken over by the cat -- and let the cat stay there since they are too cute to move?🙋🙋

When Meeka's foster said that she steals his rocking chair every night, another volunteer declared that it's no longer his rocking chair!

"Meeka is very sweet," her foster continued, "She’s very quiet except in the kitchen where she gets vocal about being fed."

Meeka has shown to be a very chill cat in her foster home, likely because she is the only animal there.

She's not that big of a snuggler, preferring the rocking chair instead of sleeping in bed. However, she turns into a lap cat when she wants.

This nearly 10-year-old lady seems to have outgrown playing with toys, but she is one curious cat when it comes to trying to find out what is behind doors.

Hopefully the next door that opens for Meeka is one to a new home!

November is adopt a senior pet month, and we have a senior girl who would love to get out of PAWS and into a home! 💜 Bailey is 8 years old, very sweet, and absolutely adorable. She has a crooked ear, loves to play, and has a special charm about her, but she's feeling stressed in the shelter environment. Bailey might be shy at first, but she warms up quickly and is full of love. If you're interested in fostering or adopting Bailey to get her out of the shelter, please come visit her during our open hours or submit an adoption application on our website!

Kitty Yoga is back at Axemann Brewery on Sunday afternoon, November 15!

Join us for a one-hour yoga session surrounded by adorable, playful kittens while supporting the cats and dogs of PAWS.

There are two sessions for you to join us:
🧘 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
🧘 2 to 3 p.m.

Tickets are $30 per person and must be purchased in advance.

Bring your own yoga mat and water, and get ready for a very special afternoon of stretching, purring, and kitten chaos.

When Vespa arrived at PAWS, she had a serious injury to her paw. It appears she may have gotten it caught in something, cutting off circulation so severely that the damage could not be reversed and amputation was the best option.

Our medical team performed the surgery she needed today, and now Vespa’s recovery begins. We’ll be providing the care, medication, and support she needs as she adjusts to life on three legs.

Caring for animals like Vespa is a big part of what we do at PAWS, but surgeries, medications, and unexpected medical expenses add up quickly.

The mother-daughter duo of Sub and Hoagie were adopted in early August, and their new family checked in to say how well they have been doing!

"Sub and Hoagie have come such a long way, and we are so happy to have them in our home.

They have been such a fun addition, and we love seeing them grow every day. They are showing our personalities more and more.

They love being brushed, playing with the cat laser, and most importantly, sleeping! They even love it when we have visitors.

They aren't quite lap cats or cuddlers, but we believe they are warming up to the idea each day. So anyway, here is a positive update for you all and some pictures!"

Considering adopting a kitten but can't visit on the weekends? We have currently have two rooms of kittens for you to meet at PAWS during the week.

Sharlie, Minoan (black kitty with his extra toes) Poppin Fresh, and Hittite are just a few friendly and playful older kittens ready to find their new homes.

Stop by in the afternoons or on your way home from work!

SAVE THE DATES! Our final two Low-Cost Vaccine & Microchip Clinics of 2026 are coming up!

Make sure your pets are protected before the year is over! PAWS will host two more opportunities to access affordable vaccines and microchips for your pets.

📅 Thursday, November 19 | 3–5 p.m.
📅 Thursday, December 17 | 3–5 p.m.
Both of these clinics are held at Centre County PAWS.

A few important things to know before you come:

🐾 Clinics are first-come, first-served, and wait times are possible due to high volume.

🐾 If you would like a 3-year rabies vaccine, you must bring proof of your pet’s previous rabies vaccination.

🐾 We cannot provide the documentation required for international travel at these clinics.

🐾 Clinics are weather-dependent because portions take place outdoors. They may be canceled due to inclement weather. Please check our website and social media for the latest updates before heading out.
