Alumnae Update- Buddy!

Of course, here is a little update on our sweet Buddy!

Last fall, our vet found some cancer in his back leg, but we were able to have it removed with surgery—and he’s been healing so well. Thankfully, it hasn’t returned, and he’s back to living his best life!

Buddy loves his nightly walks, making new friends (both furry and human), and being best buddies with our 5-year-old daughter. Watching the two of them together is the sweetest. He’s truly become such a special part of our family. 🐾❤️

Long post! Recap of the last 30+ days: it's just been nuts! We had several Bulldogs come in June, but when the moon phase kicked in at the end of the month, the real fun began. Lady in rural MO calls about a Bulldog her neighbor found and was leaving in the yard in 95 degree weather. She took it into her semi cool garage, but no one seemed to be looking for him. No collar, no chip, Welcome Boris! Sister in law of 2nd cousin has a Bulldog they don't want anymore so the brother in law goes looking for rescue. Welcome Remi! Daughter is getting a divorce and moving back to St. Louis with 4 Bulldogs and it's just too much. Welcome Ramboo and Buffy. Domestic violence situation. Welcome Bella VIII and Tank VIII. There is a little girl Bulldog in a shelter in KC and she isn't doing well in the shelter. She might be deaf too. Welcome Poppy. There is a little Bulldog in a downtown STL shelter, and they are so full they are having trouble keeping her in a spot that is cool enough for a Bulldog. Welcome Pixie! 2 Bulldogs at STL County found as strays, intact, need some care, no chip, not handling shelter life very well. Oh and 1 has the poops too. Welcome Rufus and Cole. Im not answering the phone tonight...

One of the top reasons we see dogs surrendered into rescue is due to financial limitations for medical expenses. Everything is just becoming more and more expensive. We hope you will never need assistance but if you do please save this list of options. Share before any other sources you may be aware of.
