Tux left us last month surrounded by his loving family. Tux was a special boy. He was very loved by his people even when he was finding ways to be difficult. Tux had some very interesting allergies, and his mom cooked special food for him. This gave him a gorgeous coat, and a great interest in what was happening in the kitchen! I will always remember the phone call after Tara was trying a recipe for steamed mussels. One slipped from the strainer, bounced and was caught in the air and swallowed in one gulp by the ever vigilant Tux! Nothing quite as much fun as having natural razor blades in your stomach!. Tara and Christopher rushed his unrepentant self to the ER. After a very tricky surgery, Tux was home with a huge set of sutures, a big vet bill, and a steamed mussel in a ziplock baggie. He hated other dogs. He loved his people. He is very missed. He was very loved.

Adoption Alert! Little Poppy came to us from a shelter with cauliflower ears, infected tail and a super happy life attutude! This little girl was found as a "stray" and surrendered to the shelter complete with a collar. (Probably got the estimate for trying to fix her ears...)
She had a surgical visit with Dr. Ragan at Wentzville Veterinary Clinic and left with her tail removed and a lot of the tissue in her ears lasered out. After she healed, one of our past multiple adopters let us know they were ready for a Bulldog that could get along with the big Bulldog mixes they owned and needed to like the grandkids. Poppy raised her paw! She went to meet Nelson and Cathy and plopped down in her new home. Congratulations Poppy! You made a great choice!

Adoption Alert! Sammi came to us after she has been passed around and then isolated to the basement. She was overdue for everything, underweight, wormy and was really giving up. Her chip went back to the breeder who stepped up to help us get this girl spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested. They had placed her in what they thought was a good home. Those people lied to the breeder and sent fake update photos and videos after they had sold Sammi!
Sammi went to a very experienced Bulldog home who changed her life! Sammi is happy, engaged, involved, goes on visits to friends, car rides, walks and shopping adventures! She has her own custom harness, her personal beds, toy stash, treats and healthy food. Life is good! Congratulations to Gina and Kevin on the official adoption of this lovely girl!

Today we said goodbye to Mr. Fun Police, Mr. My dinner was due 3 minutes ago, Mr. Are you working hard enough, Mr. Just the cutest boy, Teddy Roosevelt. He was 3 weeks short of his 10th birthday. Teddy came to us because of his elderly owner's hospitilization. Teddy needed a lot of work, including entropion surgery, tail amputation, allergy testing and stem cell injections in his knees. He had such a fantastic recovery and lived with Michelle and Bob for the last 2 years. Teddy liked to stack all of the dog beds and climb up to sleep. He monitored all household activities. He had opinions on everything. He was a loving and lovable boy. He worked very hard at managing his rowdy roomates Truman and Rosie.
Thank you to Michelle and Bob for opening their home and hearts to this boy. He was very loved. He will be very missed. Run free into the light Teddy Roosevelt...
