Calling All Canine Stars
Does your dog have what it takes to light up the stage? Has your furry friend always dreamed of making a theatrical debut? Now’s their chance.
Ignite Theatre Company is holding dog auditions for our summer production of Legally Blonde: The Musical.

We’re seeking two community dogs to join the cast as the iconic:
Bruiser Woods – Elle Woods’ fashionable and fearless sidekick
Rufus Bonefonte – Paulette’s loyal rescue pup with a whole lot of attitude

Ideal candidates will:
Sit and come when called
Be good with people and comfortable onstage
Stay relatively calm in new environments
Not need to be perfectly trained—our last Rufus dove into the audience and still brought down the house!

Selected dogs will be scheduled for a private audition with key cast members to ensure the right fit and comfort level for everyone.

While this is a volunteer role, our canine cast members will receive:
Professional headshots and production stills
A dedicated student staff member assigned to their safety and comfort
As many belly rubs and treats as they can handle

Canine Casting Breakdown
BRUISER WOODS
Type: Small breed dog (Chihuahua or similar size preferred)
Energy: Confident, alert, and full of charm
Stage Needs: Comfortable being carried and/or walking calmly on a leash. Must tolerate lights, music, and audiences.
Personality: Sassy, stylish, and completely devoted to Elle

RUFUS BONEFONTE
Type: Larger breed (Bulldog or similar look preferred, but not required)
Energy: Calm, grounded, with a comedic streak
Stage Needs: Walks calmly on a leash, good with people and noise. Doesn’t need advanced training—personality is key.

Personality: Gruff exterior, lovable heart. Steals every scene (and maybe a snack or two)
