Hey there, dog dads… yes, you. 🐾

The ones who love your pups like family.
The ones who say “yes” to just one more foster. Who share your spot on the couch, your bed, and your snacks.
Who handle early mornings, vet visits, muddy paws and long walks.

Who celebrate the wins, help heal the broken ones, and love them through every stage of life.

We see you, and we celebrate you today

Thank you for being the dads who open your hearts, your homes, and ever so often your side of the bed!

Happy Father’s Day from Coastal Canine Rescue to all the incredible dog dads out there ❤️🐾

Every returned dog represents a promise that didn’t last.

Puppies grow up. Commitment shouldn’t end when they do…but When it happens rescue gets called to pick up the pieces.

In 2024, we sent off Apple, a tiny 3-month-old puppy from Mama Peach’s Fruit Litter, celebrating what we hoped would be her happily ever after. Instead, Lady—now a young adult—found herself back with us.

Taking back a dog no one planned for is never easy, but commitment doesn’t end when the adoption papers are signed. We make a promise to every dog we save, and when their families can no longer keep that promise, we step back in.

Lady came back lacking confidence and the positive outlets and structure every young dog needs. As a result, she needed a reset.

Thanks to her board and train with Inked K9, Lady has been guided back to the dog she was always meant to be. It’s a full-circle journey we never hoped for, but one we’re incredibly grateful Cassidy was willing to say yes to. From fostering Mama Peach, to being there from the day the puppies were born and helping raise them, to welcoming Lady back and preparing her for what comes next, Cassidy has been part of her story every step of the way.

And now, Lady is ready for her next chapter.
🖤 Adopt Lady 🖤
Lady is the sweetest girl who can still be a little shy when meeting new people. She does warm up quickly once she realizes you’re a friend…then her goofy personality shines and you’ll receive the honor of witnessing her famous zoomies! She loves to run, play, and live life to the fullest.

She Enjoys playing with other dogs and does well with canine friends when introductions are done slowly and properly.

Lady has basic training, has been introduced to off-leash work, and comes with lifetime training support through Inked K9 to help set both her and her future family up for success.

After losing one home, we’re determined Lady never has to lose another. We’re looking for the adopter who says “forever” to Lady and truly means it.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a goofy side and professional training already in place, Lady might just be your girl.

Senior dogs deserve comfort, peace, and a soft place to land… but last August, Ed found himself in the loud, stressful kennels at ACPS.

By December, Ed was still waiting. One of our rescue volunteers Claudia, kept coming back to his sweet face and plea for a holiday foster takeover. She brought him home.

Not long after, Ed happily found an adopter and what he hoped would be his forever.

Heartbreakingly for Ed through no fault of his own by May he suddenly found himself needing somewhere to go. His adopter reached back out to Claudia for help…The alternative was returning to the shelter.

Having grown quite fond of Ed during his last stay and unable to imagine him returning back to ACPS conversations begun about him coming to Coastal.

Ironically, one of the things his adopter struggled with most is one of Ed’s sweetest qualities…he simply wants to be near his people. The second you sit down, Ed is ready to curl up beside you. He follows his humans from room to room just wanting to stay close to the people he loves.

✨Ed loves with the kind of devotion that deserves to be cherished, not returned

He is a sweet, affectionate senior with a playful side that shines brightest in the mornings, especially when his toys are nearby. He’s very food motivated and gets especially excited for mealtimes. He thoroughly enjoys short leisurely walks where he can take his time sniffing and exploring the world around him.

He’s house trained, sleeps soundly through the night on the sofa but would happily upgrade to sleeping in bed with his people.

Ed currently lives with two canine roommates and does well with other calm and respectful dogs.

Thanks to his fosters kind heart and Ed’s sweet face a return to shelter life was avoided.

Welcome to Coastal, Ed. We know there’s a family out there who will treasure having you right by their side exactly where you belong 🐾 Please share Ed to help him find them

Introducing Cricket and Roo 🐾

Two puppies. Seemingly different litters. Yet somehow sharing the same unknown but heartbreaking past.

Found abandoned together in a crate on the side of the road, they were brought into animal control at the end of the day yesterday. After seeing the condition they were in, a plan was quickly made to get them to us.

At Just 2.5lbs they were starving, covered in fleas, and in desperate need of comfort and safety.

Roo is so severely malnourished you can see every little bone beneath his skin. Our brindle houndy boy is All legs, with pleadingly sad eyes. Right now, he’s intently focused on sniffing out where the next morsel of food will come from. Hunger has outweighed everything else for far too long but despite that there’s flickers of his playful bounciness starting to shine through.

Cricket, our tiny scruffy Chihuahua girl with the most fantastic ears, is already soaking up every ounce of love she can get. Every touch, every kind word, every bit of attention making up for the love she’s missed out on.

They’re safe now. Tiny meals are being fed slowly. Bellies are full for the first time in who knows how long, and they’ll never have to wonder if they were deserving of love again.

We have fosters lined up for Sunday, but if the right homes see them and fall in love before then, we’d love for Cricket and Roo to begin settling into their forever homes through foster-to-adopt placements while The rescue covers all vetting. They will only be adopted out separately.

Adoption application or ways to donate to care in the comments if you feel called to help change Cricket or Roo’s story for good…we could really use the assistance 🙏🏼

Or please share to help find them the safe, loving homes these sweet babies should have had all along. 🐾

This Mother’s Day, Maggie is finally safe… but it’s hard not to think about everything this mama dog has endured to get here 💔 discarded when she needed compassion the most.

Maggie was found wandering a dirt road alone, her body still producing milk…but no puppies were ever found.

Her finder told animal control she had been seen roaming the dirt road for days. It’s believed this sweet girl was dumped there — surviving alone, covered in fleas, her skin and coat painfully neglected, exhausted, and abandoned after clearly having puppies of her own.

And it gets worse.

Maggie was suffering from pyometra — a life-threatening uterine infection. She has also tested heartworm positive.

Maggie is hopefully in the clear now after surgery and antibiotics while beginning her recovery with foster Jasmine. She will soon be available foster-to-adopt while undergoing her heartworm treatment ❤️‍🩹

Despite everything humans have put her through, Maggie is unbelievably sweet and gentle, dog friendly and Easygoing. She is house and crate trained, and leans into affection, so grateful someone has finally noticed her again.

If you’d like to honor a discarded mother this Mother’s Day, please consider donating toward Maggie’s medical care and heartworm treatment.

Because no mother should be abandoned when she needs help the most.

Ways to help in Maggie in the comments 🙏🏼❤️🐾

Some updates are so special they’re hard to put into words… and Butters is one of them

When Butters first came to us, fear had completely taken over. He had to be coaxed then carried out of the shelter. He was unsure, scared of everything, and still trying to figure out how to navigate the big world around him.

Little by little, he started to come around. And after waiting so long for a forever family, we thought he had finally found it… only to be returned to us 6 months later 💔

But we never stopped believing that this sweet boy, with so much love to give, would find the people truly meant for him.

And then it finally happened.

Butters has now settled in with his family and his fur brother, Bucky 🐾 There were a few bumps along the way as everyone learned each other’s language, but patience, dedication, and love persevered.

Watching Butters finally feel safe, understood, and deeply loved has made every step of this journey worth it.

Happy endings don’t always happen quickly… but when they finally come together, they’re extra special.

We love you, Butter boy. Happy life buddy 🥹

This store has gained a lot of attention for selling sick, puppy mill designer breeds, and yep even parvo puppies for a hefty sum comparable to mortgage payment.

Stores like this should not even exist in 2026 but one stores not enough for Barkstreet. Please Consider signing/sharing to try and stop them from expanding the suffering.

Stop a puppy mill retail store from opening in our neighborhood. 46 signatures are still needed!
